Electrical Safety of Resonant Grounding
2019
The resonant grounding is one of the possible methods of system neutral grounding for the medium-voltage distribution. IEEE standards do define this grounding configuration, but important advantages and drawbacks of the resonant grounding might not be fully known, due to its rather uncommon application in North America. On the other hand, resonant grounding in Europe is imposed by the increased requirements for power quality, especially for medium-voltage industrial users, and imposed to electric utilities by Regulatory Authorities, with the purpose to protect the interests of users and consumers. Level of the continuity of the service, magnitude and phase of ground-fault currents, magnitud…
Set valued integrability in non separable Fréchet spaces and applications
2016
AbstractWe focus on measurability and integrability for set valued functions in non-necessarily separable Fréchet spaces. We prove some properties concerning the equivalence between different classes of measurable multifunctions. We also provide useful characterizations of Pettis set-valued integrability in the announced framework. Finally, we indicate applications to Volterra integral inclusions.
Application of adaptive models for the determination of the thermal behaviour of a photovoltaic panel
2013
The use of reliable forecasting models for the PV temperature is necessary for a more correct evaluation of energy and economic performances. Climatic conditions certainly have a remarkable influence on thermo-electric behaviour of the PV panel but the physical system is too complex for an analytical representation. A neural-network-based approach for solar panel temperature modelling is here presented. The models were trained using a set of data collected from a test facility. Simulation results of the trained neural networks are presented and compared with those obtained with an empirical correlation.
Stability of the performance of thin film modules during one year of operation
2012
At the University of Agder in Grimstad, Southern Norway, a test bench for photovoltaic modules is in operation since December 2010. Currently, various c-Si as well as aSi, CIS and HIT modules are under investigation. This project is part of the Norwegian contribution to IEA PVPS Task13. The paper focuses on the stability of the modules' MPP-performance in the course of one year. For this purpose, data on the DC response are logged together with irradiance and module temperature at one-minute intervals. Data analysis is performed in monthly blocks. The modeling involves two steps. First, the short-circuit current is expressed as function of irradiance and module temperature. Then, the MPP po…

LA COLTIVAZIONE DELL'UVA DA TAVOLA IN SERRA SOTTO FOTOVOLTAICO
Milano Parco Sud: L'Energia della Memoria
2007
Sequestering ability of landfill leachate towards toxic metal ions
2017
The great part of municipal solid wastes is worldwide stored in sanitary landfills. The interaction of organic and inorganic wastes with rainwater produces in the landfill a leachate of extremely variable composition. It depends on several variables such as the type of wastes, the age of landfill, the pH, the redox potential, etc [1-2]. Four are the recognized categories of pollutants in landfill leachate: inorganic macrocomponents, dissolved organic matter (DOM), heavy metals and xenobiotic organic compounds [3]. In particular, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, mercury, etc.) are usually present at concentration of few ppb and up to some ppm. A variable but consistent fraction …
Functionalized Halloysite for enhanced removal of toxic metal ions from aqueous solutions
2018
During the last years several nanomaterials have been extensively used in the heavy metal ions removal from aqueous solutions. Among them, clay minerals have gathered particular interest owing to their unique features (e.g., high specific surface area, low toxicity and natural availability at low price). Halloysite nanotubes (Hal) are particular clay minerals with a predominantly hollow tubular structure. In this work Hal and their derivatives, Hal-NH2 and Hal-SH, were used as adsorbent materials of lead(II) and mercury(II) ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorption ability of clay nanomaterials towards toxic metal ions has been studied takeing into account important variables of the metal…
