Synthesis and Characterization of Isotactic Poly(1-hexene)/Branched Polyethylene Multiblock Copolymer via Chain Shuttling Polymerization Technique

Understanding from the underlying mechanism of chain shuttling polymerization (CSP) is limited due to scarceness of successful reports and incompetence of traditional characterization techniques to distinguish blocky structures. Here, a simple synthesis approach for production of an isotactic poly(1-hexene)/branched polyethylene multiblock copolymer from a 1-hexene monomer is presented. Resulting copolymers can be easily characterized because of their solubility in most organic solvents. IntroductionActive commuting is an inexpensive and accessible form of physical activity and may be beneficial to health. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of active commuting and its subcomponents, cycling and walking, with cardiometabolic risk factors, physical fitness and body composition in young men.MethodsParticipants were 776 Finnish young (26±7 years), healthy adult men. International audience; There is growing evidence that each individual has unique movement patterns, or signatures. The exact origin of these movement signatures, however, remains unknown. We developed an approach that can identify individual muscle activation signatures during two locomotor tasks (walking and pedalling). A linear support vector machine was used to classify 78 participants based on their electromyographic (EMG) patterns measured on eight lower limb muscles. Does ankle joint power reflect type of muscle action of soleus and gastrocnemius during walking in cats and humans?

The main objective of this paper is to highlight the difficulties of identifying shortening and lengthening contractions based on analysis of power produced by resultant joint moments. For that purpose, we present net ankle joint powers and muscle fascicle/muscle-tendon unit (MTU) velocities for medial gastrocnemius (MG) and soleus (SO) muscles during walking in species of different size (humans and cats). Muscle fascicle and tendon behavior during human locomotion revisited.

High-speed ultrasonography has revealed that, in human locomotion, the nature of fascicle and tendon length changes varies depending on the task, contraction intensity, and the muscles involved. The findings emphasize that the active fascicles of the gastrocnemius muscle are suddenly stretched, although they are shortening. This short-lasting stretch triggers the stretch reflex, timing of which is dependent on running speed.
