This paper aims at presenting an argument in favour of the need for a prompt update of the European legislation on air quality, by taking its cue from the current situation in Italy. The paper starts by providing a definition of outdoor air pollution and by referring to the most influential Italian scientific studies on the main health risks connected. Darbā tiek apskatīta personu, kurām ir tiesības uz aizstāvību liecību iegūšanas veidi un šo personu kriminālprocesuālās tiesības attiecībā uz liecību sniegšanu kriminālprocesa gaitā. Darba ietvarā ir apskatīti un analizēti gaidāmie fundamentālie grozījumi attiecībā uz personām, kurām ir tiesības uz aizstāvību liecību saturu, nosakot, ka personām, kurām ir tiesības uz aizstāvību, būs jāsniedz patiesas liecības, ja tās izmantos savas tiesības liecināt.

Symbiotic associations between animals and microbes are ubiquitous in nature, with an estimated 15% of all insect species harboring intracellular bacterial symbionts. Most bacterial symbionts share many genomic features including small genomes, nucleotide composition bias, high coding density, and a paucity of mobile DNA, consistent with long-term host association. Radiotherapy (RT) plays a key role in cancer treatment. Although the benefit of ionizing radiation (IR) is well established, some findings raise the possibility that irradiation of the primary tumor not only triggers a killing response but also increases the metastatic potential of surviving tumor cells. Here we addressed the question of whether irradiation of normal cells outside of the primary tumor augments metastasis by stimulating the extravasation of circulating tumor cells. We show that IR exposure of human endothelial cells (EC), tumor cells (TC) or both increases TC-EC adhesion in vitro.
