The effectiveness of leadership development in the military context from a gender viewpoint

In this case study, leadership development is investigated from the viewpoint of women in a military context. In particular, the effectiveness of a leadership development program in a specific context, namely the Finnish Defence Forces, is explored. The program being studied is unique because it is concerned with developing volunteers, not professional soldiers. A longitudinal, interview-based study of the topic was conducted with women who had participated in the program. The data consists of 45 open-ended interviews with 15 women. Šis pētnieciskais darbs aplūko, kā identitāte un telpa tiek attēlotas Sandras Sisneros romānos „The House on Mango Street” (1989), „Woman Hollering Creek and Other Stories” (1992) un „Caramelo” (2003). Pētījuma mērķis ir izzināt, kā, parvietošanās un dzīves vietas pārmaiņu procesā, vieta ietekmē varoņu hibrīdidentitātes, ļauj saglabāt vietējā iezīmes globālā kontekstā. Pētījums tika veikts ar teksta tuvlasījuma analīzes palīdzību no naratoloģijas perspektīvas. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti var tikt izmantoti tālākai identitātes un telpas atainojuma Čikano literatūrā izpētei. Measuring Acceptability of Intimate Partner Violence Against Women: Development and Validation of the A-IPVAW Scale

Abstract: Intimate partner violence against women (IPVAW) is a major social and public health problem of global proportions. Public attitudes toward IPVAW shape the social environment in which such violence takes place, and attitudes of acceptability of IPVAW are considered a risk factor to actual IPVAW. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a scale measuring acceptability of IPVAW (A-IPVAW). To this end, a sample of 1,800 respondents was recruited via social media. A second sample of 50 IPVAW offenders was used for concurrent validity analyses. El microcrédito como instrumento de empoderamiento y de lucha contra la pobreza de la mujer: el caso de la mujer senegalesa de Ziguinchor.

El presente trabajo presenta el panorama socioeconómico de la región senegalesa de Ziguinchor y aborda los retos de empoderamiento de las mujeres y la reducción de la pobreza a través de la concesión de microcréditos. Para ello se han realizado entrevistas en profundidad a mujeres de escasos recursos económicos beneficiarias de un programa nacional de microcrédito. El trabajo se apoya también en diversos estudios e investigaciones que tratan la cuestión. La hipótesis de partida es que el microcrédito permite a las mujeres adquirir recursos económicos que les ayuda a sacar a sus familias de la pobreza y favorece su empoderamiento.
