In this article I describe the results of a questionnaire survey done on non-dominant language writers in Finland, and reflect this on the criteria by which a professional artist has been traditionally defined in Finland. The background data consists of reports and studies on artists' social standing conducted by Arts Promotion Center Finland, Cupore and the Finnish Writers' Union.

Anotācija Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt sakarības starp stresa pārvarēšanas pašefektivitāti, pārliecību par taisnīgu pasauli, darba zaudējuma kognitīvā novērtējuma dimensijām, sociāldemogrāfiskajiem faktoriem un depresiju 209 bezdarbnieku izlasē vecumā no 45 - 61 gadiem, un pārbaudīt, vai pastāv atšķirības pārliecību sistēmā starp bezdarbnieku grupu ar un bez depresijas simptomiem. Rezultāti parāda, ka respondentu grupām ar un bez depresijas pārliecības un kognitīvais novērtējums atšķiras . 42% no depresijas variācijas izskaidro attiecību statuss, kognitīvais zaudējuma novērtējums, personīgā pārliecība par taisnīgu pasauli un stresa pārvarēšanas pašefektivitāte. During and after the First World War, discourses calling for constitutional reform pervaded Europe. The break-up of the continental empires, the emergence of the new nation-states, and the western calls for democratization collectively gave rise to transnational debates about parliamentarization and parliamentary government. However, in the diverse and contingent post-war political environment, at the same time these ideals were given profoundly nation-specific meanings. The author suggests a possible use of postmemory to analyse the contemporary family memory of the people of Silesia. Their memoirs about WW2 (such as working for the Wehrmacht, the Red Army invading Silesia, working in labour camps, nationality verification, displacements to Germany, and deportations to Siberia) bear signs of latent memory which is rarely revealed even to the next of kin. Present mainly within the family circle, within the local society, and among friends, these memoirs integrated Silesians and made them a unique community that considers itself a stigmatized minority.
