Vix, Ca’ Morta : deux chars du type « à caisse exhaussée »
2022
Vix and CA’ MORTA: two wagons of “raised box” type - The wagon from the burial ground at Ca’ Morta (Como), the subject of a recent reexamination by the author, constitutes a significant social maker. It is highly likely to be a wagon of “raised box” type of the Hallstatt period, similar to the vehicle discovered in the princely burial of Vix. Its presence in a Golasecca context is somewhat incongruous and highlights the importance of exchange between elites on both sides of the Alps.
Hong Kong’s EDI bandwagon Derailed or on the right track?
1997
In this paper we explore the adoption of a complex networked technology — that of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) — in the context of Hong Kong. EDI forms a complex and interorganizational innovation and therefore we suggest a multi-theoretical framework to examine its diffusion. The framework takes into account institutional, industry specific and organizational factors in the study of diffusion processes and thus extends the analysis beyond organizational borders. Using the framework we deliver an account of the EDI diffusion in Hong Kong based on field study data. The study clarifies how simultaneous organizational, industry and environmental factors can be brought to bear to understan…
Mean-Field Game Modeling the Bandwagon Effect with Activation Costs
2015
This paper provides a mean-field game theoretic model of the bandwagon effect in social networks. This effect can be observed whenever individuals tend to align their own opinions to a mainstream opinion. The contribution is threefold. First, we describe the opinion propagation as a mean-field game with local interactions. Second, we establish mean-field equilibrium strategies in the case where the mainstream opinion is constant. Such strategies are shown to have a threshold structure. Third, we extend the use of threshold strategies to the case of time-varying mainstream opinion and study the evolution of the macroscopic system.

Study of the protohistoric collections in the Archaeological Museum of Dijon led to us to investigate a fragment of an iron hub from an early Iron Age wagon in the Br…
