Expert system for predicting unstable angina based on Bayesian networks

The use of computer-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools is growing significantly in recent years. These tools help reduce waiting lists, minimise patient risks and, at the same time, optimise the cost health resources. In this paper, we present a CDS application that predicts the probability of having unstable angina based on clinical data. Due to the characteristics of the variables (mostly binary) a Bayesian network model was chosen to support the system. Bayesian-network model was constructed using a population of 1164 patients, and subsequently was validated with a population of 103 patients. We analysed the phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) profiles of seston and of the dominant zooplankter, Daphnia longispina, through the open water period in a small, dystrophic lake to investigate seasonal variation in the diet of Daphnia. Phytoplankton, heterotrophic bacteria, green sulphur bacteria and methane-oxidizing bacteria (MOB) were all present in the water column of the lake, and previous studies have indicated that vertically migrating Daphnia can exploit all these potential food sources. 2. Tracer addition experiments are powerful tools to reconstruct nutrient flows by adding an isotopically enriched element into an ecosystem and tracking its fate through time. Historically, the design and analysis of tracer studies have varied widely, ranging from descriptive studies to modeling approaches of varying complexity. Maģistra darbs pielieto ekonomisko ziņu noskaņojuma indeksu, lai atrisinātu paradoksu starp nepieciešamību pēc biežākām makroekonomisko prognožu atjauninājumiem un nepietiekamu attiecīgo rādītāju atjaunošanas biežumu. Izmantojot modernākas datu zinātnes metodes, tika iegūts ikdienu ziņu noskaņojuma indekss, lai izpētītu, vai ziņu noskaņojums ir piemērots, prognozējot nodarbinātības dinamiku Dānijā, un uzlabotu prognozes precizitāti modelī. Analīze rāda, ka pastāv statistiska saistība starp nodarbinātības dinamiku un ziņu noskaņojumu, un ka noskaņojuma rādītāju izmantošana var palielināt nodarbinātības datu prognozēšanas precizitāti īsos prognozēšanas periodos.

Problematizing the environmental democracy: Can online eco-citizen participation rescue the institutional participation? The rise of the digital society came with a series of hopes picturing a liberating technology. At the same time, political institutions call for a better integration of citizens in the public affairs’ government. Knowing that this injunction to participation does not generate a massive mobilization, to what extent can online discussion platforms help to give new life to citizen participation? This issue will be brought up through an analysis of Community Management in a socio-technical perspective, as a part of our PhD Research Program.
