webRTC tehnoloģija un tās pielietojums mūsdienu pārlūkprogrammās

2015

Mūsdienās tīmekļa vietnes piedāvā pakalpojumus, kuri ļauj tās lietotājiem veikt savstarpēju informācijas apmaiņu un saziņu. Pastāv problēma sniegt plaši pieejamu, lētu reāla laika komunikāciju starp tīmekļa pārlūka lietotājiem.Šo problēmas cenšas risināt atvērtā pirmkoda projekts ar nosaukumu WebRTC, kas uz tīmekļa pārlūkprogrammu bāzes ļautu veikt tiešus vienādranga savienojumus. Bakalaura darba teorētiskajā daļa ir apzinātas WebRTC tehnoloģijas metodikas, izstrādes veidi un to to pielietojumi, ar kādiem iespējams saskarties WebRTC lietojumprogrammu izstrādē. Darba ietvaros veiktajā praktiskajā daļa izveidota Chrome lietojumprogramma, kura…

Tīmekļa tērzēšanas lietojumprogramma

2019

Lietotnes datubāzes uzturēšanu nodrošina a…

Sharing media content in social media: The challenges and opportunities of user-distributed content (UDC)

2017

The article explores the distribution of mass media content by the online audience that connects by using the different social platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. The focus is on the new and developing concept of user-distributed content (UDC). From the viewpoint of media organisations, UDC is a process by which the mass media converge with online social networks through the intentional use of social media services and platforms in an effort to expand the distribution of media content. UDC does not have a long trajectory as a study object in media studies. The study suggests that practices related to UDC can be more strongly incorporated into management and journalism in main…

CiNetView - Graphic Interface for Wireless Sensor Network Deployment and Monitoring

2010

Reliable communication is crucial for successful deployment of a wireless sensor network. Many environmental factors can affect the performance of radio links, and the deployment of a network without real-time information about link qualities can be a demanding task. This paper describes the CiNetView application that is intended to support the deployment and monitoring of wireless sensor network. CiNetView is based on diagnostic information collected by sensor nodes, and it allows the user to see a graphical presentation of the network topology and to monitor the network diagnostic information in real time.

Enhancing citizen response to crises through communication : investigating expert views

2015

The purpose of this paper is to clarify how citizen response to crises is currently being enhanced, and how it might be increased, by emergency response organisations in member states of the European Union via communication strategies and tools. Data were gathered via an online questionnaire directed at emergency management and crisis communication experts working in the field of crisis response. The experts were drawn from the database of an international conference. The results indicate that while the importance of involving citizens in crisis response is generally acknowledged, the implementation of such activities is often fragmented. Although some initiatives are under way, coherent st…

Developing Web-based Academic Adult Education: Learning Experiences as Starting Points for Planning and for Continuous Development

2015

Different innovative web-based solutions for adult learning have made wide-ranging global breakthroughs. Increasingly flexible initiatives are expected in the future from web-based solutions in education and in developing expertise. Global changes reach individuals in their everyday lives, and web-based education enables the realization of lifelong learning in many ways. Traditionally, academic adult students' most central challenge has been the practical difficulties in participation: many connecting factors and responsibilities overlap in their busy everyday lives. New web-based teaching solutions have enabled participation in academic studies more equally and for an increasingly wider gr…

Exploration of Location-Based Services Adoption

2011

The purpose of this chapter is to explore aspects of user perceptions of their use of location-based services. As mobile technologies become more ubiquitous in the general population, it is reasonable to assume that individuals will consume services and software to enhance their aspirations and entertainment desires. This study begins by constructing a location-based service prototype simulation. It then conducts an experiment and analysis based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. A survey was developed to extract usage information from participants, followed by an analysis of the results using PLS. The analysis shows significant indicators that suggest …

A Framework for Small Group Support in Online Collaborative Learning - Combining Collaboration Scripts and Online Tutoring

2017

Many learners experience difficulties engaging in collaborative learning activities online. Computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) scripts have been implemented to support online learners. Collaboration scripts have shown much potential in facilitating students’ general collaboration skills. However, reported effects of collaboration scripts on domain-specific knowledge acquisition have been less positive. In this paper, I suggest an alternative framework for supporting CSCL learners by combining collaboration scripting and online tutoring. While collaboration scripts can facilitate the acquisition of general collaboration skills, the online tutor is capable of monitoring and asse…

Mobile commerce: core business technology and intelligent support

2005

Mobile commerce is an emerging field in its early stages, but there are a number of ideas of what is going to constitute the key success factors for the actors in the global m-commerce arena. This arena is already growing diversified with a number of application areas, which are growing in different directions and at different paces. We understand already that B2B, B2E, B2C and P2P will produce rather different types of applications, because the propositions for value-added products and services are quite different. This is probably one of the reasons why the hunt for the “mobile commerce killer applications” has been in vain so far.

Analysis of research on web usability for people with cognitive disability from 2002 to 2011

2012

We present a review of research over the last decade on web usability for people with cognitive disabilities. Our aim is to know current status on the issue of usability in relation to people with cognitive disabilities to consider the issues they present and future solutions. We proceeded to perform a review in specialized databases of different scientific disciplines. We describe the results and we discuss empirical studies which evaluated usability of websites for people with cognitive disabilities. Conclusions and future lines are presented.
