Dynamics of the termination of global alliances: probing the past, analyzing the present and defining the frontiers for future research
2022
PurposeWhile the number of global alliance terminations in the business world has grown steadily during the past few decades, the scholarly literature on strategic alliance (SA) termination remains limited. This research paper aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of the literature on alliance termination and propose a model for future research agenda that links the termination phase to the pre-alliance termination phase and post alliance termination phase.Design/methodology/approachA search query on global alliance termination identified a total of 69 research papers from the Scopus database, and a bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R-package and VOSviewer. The an…
Building Brand Relationships Online: A Comparison of Two Interactive Applications
2002
Due to its potential for interactive communication, the Internet is considered a promising tool for relationship marketing. However, the effects of interactive communication on marketing effectiveness may depend on several factors related to each individual consumer, such as Internet experience. In this study, two of the most common applications for interactive communication—personalized Web sites and customer communities—were compared for their ability to develop consumer-brand relationships as measured by the Brand Relationship Quality (BRQ) framework of Fournier (1998). No main effects of the applications were observed. However, significant effects of Internet applications were found wh…
Cross-cultural Perceptions of Onshore Guided Tours: A Qualitative Approach Based on eWOM
2016
Recognizing the importance of the study of guided tour experiences and being aware of the cross-cultural variations of services’ perceptions, the purpose of this article is to examine if cruise tourists from the two main generating markets (Europe and North America) perceive differently a port of call guided tour based on the content of the eWOM generated. The data set was comprised of 334 reviews on guided tours undertaken in Spanish ports of call and published during the period 2009–2015 on the major travel Web site Tripadvisor. The thematic content analysis of the data was performed using the text mining software Leximancer. The results yielded different pictures for the experiences desc…
Sensitivity of Estimators for Measuring Information Amount in Web-Based Medical Documents
2018
Nowadays, communication between patient and doctor during an appointment has changed significantly owning to the opportunity that medical portals provide. Whether or not necessarily appreciated by the doctors, the patients became more aware of the first symptoms’ suggesting a particular disease and the medical procedures that apply as a standard. Estimating amount of reliable factual medical information in a document is carried out by parametrizing space of digital documents and dividing it into subsequent layers that represent distribution of the system responses computed as random variables to a query about medical information. Analyzed are the following attributes: dynamism of decrease o…
Oil-in-Water fL Droplets by Interfacial Spontaneous Fragmentation and Their Electrical Characterization
2019
Inkjet printing is here employed for the first time as a method to produce femtoliter-scale oil droplets dispersed in water. In particular, picoliter-scale fluorinated oil (FC40) droplets are printed in the presence of perfluoro-1-octanol surfactant at a velocity higher than 5 m/s. Femtoliter-scale oil droplets in water are spontaneously formed through a fragmentation process at the water/air interface using minute amounts of nonionic surfactant (down to 0.003% v/v of Tween 80). This fragmentation occurs by a Plateau-Rayleigh mechanism at a moderately high Weber number (10(1)). A microfluidic chip with integrated microelectrodes allows droplets characterization in terms of number and diamet…
Relaxation of wet paper by simulations and laboratory-scale experiments
2009
Numerical studies of fiber networks and experiments on wet paper show that tensile force relaxes linearly as a function of logarithmic time. Relaxation rate is faster for wet than dry paper. Simulated permanent deformation after relaxation is clearly higher than that measured in wet paper.
Correction: Variation of the Fermi level and the electrostatic force of a metallic nanoparticle upon colliding with an electrode.
2017
The nanoparticle potential varies with the distance from the electrode, and sometimes like attracts like.
Max Weber. Ordinamenti e qualità umane
2006
