Persistence of sexual reproduction among coexisting asexual competitors has been a major paradox in evolutionary biology. The number of empirical studies is still very limited, as few systems with coexisting sexual and strictly asexual lineages have been found. We studied the ecological mechanisms behind the simultaneous coexistence of a sexually and an asexually reproducing closely related species of psychid moth in Central Finland between 1999 and 2001. High-precision mass measurements for the rp-process at JYFLTRAP

The double Penning trap JYFLTRAP at the University of Jyvaskyla has been successfully used to achieve high-precision mass measurements of nuclei involved in the rapid proton-capture (rp) process. A precise mass measurement of 31 Cl is essential to estimate the waiting point condition of 30 S in the rp-process occurring in type I x-ray bursts (XRBs). The mass-excess of 31 C1 measured at JYFLTRAP, -7034.7(3.4) keV, is 15 more precise than the value given in the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2012. The proton separation energy S p determined from the new mass-excess value confirmed that 30 S is a waiting point, with a lower-temperature limit of 0.44 GK. These are a generalization of invariant positive sesquilinear forms that still allows a Gel’fand—Naĭmark—Segal (GNS) construction of representations. In Section 9.1, we apply this GNS construction for biweights and we obtain *-representations and cyclic vector representations of partial *-algebras, and we give some examples of biweights. We assessed the association between exposure to air pollution during pregnancy and anthropometric measures at birth in four areas within the Spanish Children’s Health and Environment (INMA) mother and child cohort study. Methods: Exposure to ambient nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and benzene was estimated for the residence of each woman (n = 2,337) for each trimester and for the entire pregnancy. Weights and Imputations in SHARE Wave 8

In this chapter, we first use the different patterns of participation to define three subsamples of primary interest for the analysis of the SHARE data collected in Wave 8: CAPI, CATI and CAPI & CATI. We then describe the procedure used to construct calibrated cross-sectional and longitudinal weights for handling, respectively, problems of unit non-response and attrition in the CAPI subsample. Afterwards, we describe the model used to obtain multiple imputations of the missing values due to item non-response in the CAPI data.
