Extrinsic attributes responsible for red wine quality perception: A cross-cultural study between France and Spain

Understanding quality perception requires focusing both on product proprieties and consumers' representations. The goal of this study was to access the representations of perceived extrinsic wine quality of consumers from two different wine regions in two European countries with an important wine tradition: La Rioja-RJ-(Spain) and Cotes du Rhone-CdR-(France). Twenty commercial red wines (ten from RJ and ten from CdR) were evaluated in terms of quality by means of a categorization task. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the literature on organizational social capital and organizational commitment in collaborative networks context. Firstly, we identified the most important elements that compound these two concepts. In order to do that, we surveyed 193 employees of 74 companies' members of a food network - the Brazilian Wine Industry Cluster. Finally, we sought to better understand the relationship between commitment and social capital. Purpose The purpose of this paper is twofold: first, it identifies distinct organizational models in a sample of small and medium enterprises operating in the Sicilian wine industry; and second, it identifies the key factors enabling a superior export success.
