This paper examines two models of women's instruction and behavior depicted in Choderlos de Laclos’ famous epistolary novel. Cecile de Volanges is a young and naive virgin who tries to respect all the precepts of a wellborn girls conventional education. On the other hand, Marquise de Merteuil, officially a worldly lady of irreproachable reputation and secretly a dissolute libertine, has broken all the rules, and, in the conscious process of self-education, has provided herself with significant psychological knowledge that let her dominate and manipulate others.

The work of Marguerite Duras, marked by an obsession with ‘the unnameable’, describes the author haunted by her own phantasms, which she justifies by linking the motif of silence to the female condition, defying in the process the dominant literary tradition. From the viewpoint of the author, silence, presented in various guises, emerges as an intimate need, a singular necessity that can express unnamed emotions. This concept emphasizes the evolution of Duras’s minimalist writing, which depicts desire as an eternal theme identified with the rejection of logical and rational language. Facsimile : The Makings of the Similar in Graham Rawle’s Collage Novel Woman’s World

This article reads Graham Rawle's collage novel Woman's World (2005) by utilizing the literal and metaphoric meanings of the facsimile as critical tools. Woman's World is an assemblage of circa 40,000 fragments cut and pasted from over a 1000 copies of British women's magazines of the early 1960s. These snippets are reproduced in facsimile and thus feature a jerky variety of font types, cases, and sizes. Woman's World does not only present a facsimile of its found graphic materials but it also studies, in my reading, the "facsimile" (similarizing, imitating, copying) qualities of gender identification, adopted discourses, (cross-)dressing, and the novel's own construction. Tiek skatīti divi darbi: “Zila debess zelta mākoņos” un “Rudens lakstīgala”. Bakalaura darba pētnieciskās metodes ir kultūrvēsturiskā un biogrāfiskā. Kultūrvēsturiskā metode tiek izmantota, lai izzinātu sieviešu stāvokli sabiedrībā. Biogrāfiskā metode ļauj ieskatīties Aspazijas dzīves gaitā un analizēt sakarības starp personisko dzīvi un literārajiem darbiem.
