Despite the current growing number of studies that focus on macrobotanical remains from Middle Palaeolithiccontexts, plant use among hunter-gatherer societies remains unknown in many regions of Europe. Understanding woodworking in Paleolithic times by means of use-wear analysis

Abstract Throughout prehistory, wood working was a frequent activity. The indices of this activity comes from rare found wooden remains, and the analysis of use-wear on them. In most recent periods, there are stone polished tools and metal tools, that increase the capability of wood transformation. This is not the case for older times, from which only knapped tools are available. The woodworking chaine operatoire includes activities of selection and acquisition of raw material, but also the transformation and the finish of objects and structures. Dilute solution rheology of flexible macromolecules (bead–rod model)

The rheological behavior of dilute solutions of flexible macromolecules is studied by means of a freely jointed multiple bead–rod model. The solution of the equations describing the mechanics of the system is obtained by means of a numerical procedure, which applies to arbitrary flow conditions. The case of the transient stress in uniaxial elongational flow is developed in some detail. A comparison with bead–spring models shows both quantitative and qualitative differences which are briefly discussed.
Optimizing the Shape of Welded Constructions Made through the Technique “Temper Bead Welding”

Welded constructions are subject to high stresses during operation. One solution for improving the behavior in exploitation of welded constructions in various cases is to use the welding technique “temper bead welding” (TBW). In the paper, the optimization of the geometry of the welded joints by the TBW technique was performed. Thus, corner welded joints made of S355 steel were analyzed.
