Energetic aspects of adaptation to stress and task demands are reflected in autonomic and somatic nervous system (ANS/SNS) changes (see, eg Lyytinen, 1985). Related psychophysiological individual differences have been illustrated widely in the literature. Aristotle’s Doctrine of Causes and the Manipulative Theory of Causality

I will argue for the similarity between some aspects of Aristotle’s doctrine of causes and a particular kind of interventionist theory of causality. The interventionist account hypothesizes that there is a connection between causation and human intervention: the idea of a causal relation between two events is generated by the reflection of human beings on their own operating. This view is remindful of the Aristotelian concept of αἴτιον (cause), which is linked to the figure of the αἴτιος, the person who is responsible of an action. Spitz nevi, atypical Spitz tumors and Spitzoid melanoma, the three clinicopathologic forms that constitute the spectrum of the Spitz-type melanocytic lesions, share a histologic picture characterized by large spindle and/or epithelioid ganglion-like cells, with various admixtures of multinucleate bizarre cells. This remarkable cytology has always been interpreted as an unusual, as well as unexplained form of atypia. We report a case of atypical Spitz tumor with Homer Wright-like rosettes, a feature characteristic of ganglioneuroblastic proliferation. Abstract Large scale comparative studies, such as the value surveys (EVS and WVS) or the Eurobarometer, include measurements for parental/child-rearing values. This reflects a persistent interest for the topic, which produced salient studies starting with the first half of the twentieth century (Lynd and Lund 1929; Duvall 1946). Various scholars report data on parental values which use versions of the Q-sort methodology (Kohn 1977), ranking variables (Alwin 1990; Lenski 1961), scale indicators (Tulviste et al. 2007). El presente trabajo es consecuencia de la investigación de la Universitat de València que analizó la presencia de las mujeres en los contenidos de todas las asignaturas de la ESO en tres editoriales distintas. Se revisaron 109 manuales y los resultados que se obtuvieron fueron desastrosos: solo un 7,6 % de los personajes citados eran mujeres (López-Navajas, 2014). En el presente trabajo se ejemplifica con dos relevantes dramaturgas, las propuestas didácticas que se están desarrollando en el marco del proyecto Las mujeres en la ESO. Religious literacy or spiritual awareness? Comparative critique of Andrew Wright’s and David Hay’s approaches to spiritual education

On the basis of a comparison of the educational approaches of Andrew Wright and David Hay this paper illustrates the persisting problem of dichotomising cognitive and trans‐cognitive aspects of spiritual development and education. Even though both Wright and Hay speak of the same topic – spirituality and spiritual education – they define these terms very differently, and as a consequence, they draw altogether different practical implications, set different priorities, and warn of different dangers in spiritual education.
