The subject of the article is, modern in last decades, a creative way of parasitising on someone else‘s texts – a reinterpretation of texts which were written some time ago. As an example of such a modern drama strategy, called a literary recycling, I chose ―The Wedding‖ on the basis of Wyspianski‘s ―The Wedding‖ presented in Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole. The staging is a reinterpretation of a well-known drama of Jan Wyspianski which leads us to many reflections. How far can a director walk away from an original text, traditions, conventions, a spectator‘s habits?
