Discrete bond model (DBM) of sodium silicate glasses derived from XPS, Raman and NMR measurements

1993

In sodium silicate glasses, the fraction of differently bound Si species Q[i] (i = 0−4), depending on the number i of bridging oxygens bound to the quarternary silicon, is a function of stoichiometry and the Na/Si ratio. Sodium silicate glasses were investigated by high resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. To explain the differences in chemical shifts and linewidths of the O 1s signal of the bridging and the non-bridging oxygen as a function of alkali concentration, and extended glass model was developed. This new model takes into account the influence of the alkali concentration on the Q[i] distribution and on the appearance and concentrations of differently bound bridging oxygens …

Über tetraaryl-methan-analoga in der gruppe 14

1994

Abstract The title compounds have been synthesized by Grignard reactions or pyrolysis of diplumbanes respectively. The crystal structures of m -Tol 4 Pb and Ph 4 Pb (redetermination) have been determined. All eight compounds (Ph/Tol) 4 (Sn/Pb) are S 4 symmetric and contracted along this unique axis. The 13 C-NMR chemical shifts and the couplings 1 J ( 119 Sn/ 207 Pb 13 C) as well depend additively upon the methyl substituents. The ratios 1 K ( 207 Pb 13 C): 1 K ( 119 Sn 13 C) of the reduced coupling constants are all near to 1.61; a comparison with values from the literature for alkyl, alkenyl and alkinyl substituents is given. The ratio δ( 207 Pb):δ( 119 Sn) results in 2.28. IR (700 dow…

Structure of 5,17-dimethyl-11,23-dioctylcalix[4]arene

1991

The title compound C46O4H60 crystallizes in the triclinic space group, P¯1, witha=11.584(2),b=16.261(2),c=11.172(1) A,α=103.15(8),β=95.68(1),γ=96.85(1)°. The structure was solved by direct methods, and refined by weighted full-matrix least squares toR=0.097. This is the second calix[4]arene with two different alkyl substituents atpara positions of the phenolic rings. The macrocycle adopts the cone conformation. Interactions CH3-π are established between two calixarenes related by a center of symmetry. Comparisons are made between the conformation of this molecule and that of symmetrically substituted calix[4]arenes.

Amorphous Complexes MM (EDTA) (H2O)4 · 2H2O . LAXS and XPS Investigation of the Local Structure

1988

Abstract The amorphous MM (EDTA)(H2O)4·2 H2O (M = Ni,Co) substances are made up of infinite chains of alternating "hydrated" and "chelated" octahedra bridged by carboxylate groups: M(H2O)4 - M(EDTA)-M(H2O)4-... . XPS enables to ascertain that the coordination of the EDTA ligand in the amorphous phase is identical to that in the crystalline phase, i.e., hexacoordination toward the M atom and two bridging groups in the Ni -Ni, Co - Co compounds.

Synthesis and electrode reactions of difluorogermanium(IV) porphyrins. Molecular stereochemistry and crystal structure of difluoro-(2,3,7,8,12,13,17,…

1988

The difluorogermanium(IV) porphyrins [GeF2(P)][P = 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octaethylporphyrinate(2–)(oep), 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrinate(2–)(tpp), or 5,10,15,20-tetra-p-tolylporphyrinate(2–)(tptp)] have been prepared by reacting hydrogen fluoride with the appropriate dichloro derivative [GeCl2(P)]. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H n.m.r., i.r., and u.v.–visible spectroscopy. The electrochemical behaviour was investigated in non-aqueous media while spectroelectrochemistry and e.s.r. were used to characterize the oxidized and reduced complexes. Each complex could be reversibly oxidized or reduced by one electron. In each case these electron additions or abstractions…

Effect of Protonated Organic Cations and Anion−π Interactions on the Magnetic Behavior of Hexabromorhenate(IV) Salts

2015

Two novel Re-IV compounds of formula (Hbpym)(2)[(ReBr6)-Br-IV]center dot 4H(2)O (1) and (H(4)biim)[(ReBr6)-Br-IV]center dot 4H(2)O (2) [Hbpym(+) = 2,2'-bipyrimidinium cation and H(4)biim(2+) = 2,2'-biimidazolium dication] have been prepared and magnetostructurally characterized. 1 and 2 exhibit distinct crystal packing, and the presence of weak intermolecular contacts, such as Re-Br...B-rRe (1 and 2), Re-Br center dot center dot center dot(H2O)center dot center dot center dot BrRe (1 and 2), and Re-Br center dot center dot center dot pi center dot center dot center dot Br-Re (2), lead to different magnetic behaviors. While 1 is antiferromagnetic, 2 is a ferromagnetic compound and indeed the…

The First Examples of a Crown Ether Intramolecularly Encapsulating Mono- and Diorganotin Dications: Synthesis and Structures of [PhSnCH2([16]crown-5)…

2010

The reaction of silver perchlorate with [PhI 2 SnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)] (1) and [I 3 SnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)] (2) gave the organotin(IV)-substituted crown ether complexes [PhSnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)][ClO 4 ] 2 (3) and [HOSnCH 2 ([16]crown-5)][Y] 2 (4: Y= ClO 4 , 5: Y=CF3 S 03 ) , respectively. All compounds have been isolated as air-stable materials and characterised by 1 H, 13 C, 119 Sn and 119 Sn MAS (5) NMR spectroscopy, ESIMS spectrometry, elemental analysis and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The molecular structures of 3-5 show that the tin(IV) cation fits perfectly into the crown ether cavity and is coordinated by the five oxygen atoms of the ring to give a pentagonal bipyramidal…
