Spectral and structural studies on Ni(II) dithiocarbamates: Nickel sulfide nanoparticles from a dithiocarbamate precursor

2015

Abstract Three new planar Ni(II) dithiocarbamate complexes; [Ni(4-dpmpzdtc)2] (1), [Ni(4-dpmpzdtc)(PPh3)(NCS)] (2) and [Ni(bupcbzdtc)(PPh3)(NCS)] (3) (where, 4-dpmpzdtc = 4-(diphenylmethyl)piperazinecarbodithioato anion, bupcbzdtc = N-butyl-N-(4-chlorobenzyl))dithiocarbamato anion and PPh3 = triphenylphosphine) with “NiS4” and “NiS2PN” chromophore units were synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray structural analysis as well as UV–Vis, IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) spectroscopy. For 2, 1H–1H COSY spectrum was also recorded. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis of 1–3, reveals a slightly distorted square planar geometry in all three complexes wherein the steric and electroni…

A new efficient, highly dispersed, Pd nanoparticulate silica supported catalyst synthesized from an organometallic precursor. Study of the homogeneou…

2018

[EN] A new Pd(0) catalyst supported on silica UVM-7 has been synthesized from the organometallic [Pd-2(mu-(C6H4) Pp(2))(2)(CH3CN)(4)](BF4)(2) precursor, characterized by the high dispersion, activity, and small size of the palladium nanoclusters fixed on the silica surface. The catalyst was tested for the Suzuki-Miyaura (SM) reaction of different 4-substitutedphenyl halides with phenylboronic acid. The kinetic study concurs with most of the catalytic action was carried out by Pd species originated by the partial solubilization of Pd immobilized on mesoporous silica. The Schmidt's analysis of differential selectivity (SADS) in several competitive SM reactions, together the STEM-HAADF and HRT…

Metal-support interaction and redox behavior of Pt(1 wt %)/Ce0.6Zr0.4O2

2006

The catalyst Pt(1 wt %)/Ce(0.6)Zr(0.4)O(2) is studied by CO-temperature programmed reduction (CO-TPR), isothermal oxygen storage complete capacity (OSCC), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) at the Pt L(III) edge, and in situ X-ray diffraction (in situ XRD), with the aim of elucidating the role of supported metal in CO oxidation by ceria-based three-way catalysts (TWC). The redox behavior of Pt(1 wt %)/Ce(0.6)Zr(0.4)O(2) is compared to that of bare ceria-zirconia. OSCC of redox-aged Pt/ceria-zirconia is twice that of bare ceria-zirconia, and the maximum of CO consumption occurs at a temperature about 300 K lower than redox-aged ceria-zirconia. XAS analysis allows one to evidence the formati…

Inclusion complexes of cyclomaltooligosaccharides (cyclodextrins) with melatonin in solid phase

2005

Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) investigations were carried out on MLT plus α-, β- and γ-CD physical mixtures and lyophilized or crystalline MLT/α-, β-, γ-CD complexes. Inclusion complexes formation between MLT and cyclodextrins in solid phase has been emphasized by the significant differences between IR and XRD spectra of physical mixtures with respect to those of the complexes. The structure of MLT CDs complexes in the solid state as well as the biochemical and pharmaceutical implications are discussed.

Development of iron oxide / activated carbon nanoparticle composite for the removal of Cr(VI), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution

2018

Iron oxide (Fe3O4) and iron oxide/activated carbon (Fe3O4/AC) were fabricated by co-precipitation method for the removal of Cr(VI), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution in batch mode. These nanoparticles were characterized by BET, FTIR, XRD, SEM/TEM and VSM. The optimum conditions for the removal of ions were pH = 2 for Cr(VI) and 6 for Cu(II) and Cd(II), initial metal ion concentration = 50 mg L−1, nanoparticle dose = 50 mg/10 mL, temperature = 25 ± 1 °C, shaking speed = 180 rpm and contact time = 3 h. The equilibrium data of ions sorption were well described by Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich-Peterson and Intraparticle Diffusion model. The R2 values obtained by Langmuir model were h…
