La cronología de ἵνα con subjuntivo en expresión de mandato: la lengua de Sófocles, Eurípides y Jenofonte

En este artículo el autor trata de señalar que la construcción de ἵνα más subjuntivo con valor de imperativo es anterior a la koiné. Asimismo trata de explicar su origen y sus fases a partir de un proceso de gramaticalización constatable, por ejemplo, en la lengua de Sófocles, Eurípides y Jenofonte. In this paper the author tries to point out that ἵνα with subjunctive as imperative is previous to koiné. Likewise he tries to explain its origin and phases starting from a grammaticalization process that is noticeable in the language of Sophocles, Euripides and Xenophon.

Entre los estudiosos las posturas son variadas: Radermacher y Breitenbach rechazan completamente su autoría, Marchant niega la autenticidad del primer capítulo, Delebecque y Gray la admiten para toda la obra. Among the most common and influential stereotypes of Greco-Roman literature is the idea that animals are ‘dumb’ (ἄλογα/muta), that is, mute and devoid of reason. In recent years, several explorations of what Stephen Newmyer has aptly called the ‘man alone of animals’ topos have pointed out that in asserting the privileged status of humans the ancients attached special importance to articulate language. Charles L. Stevenson w swoim dobrze znanym artykule pt. Persuasive definitions wprowadza pojęcie definicji perswazyjnej – narzędzia argumentacyjnego, które umożliwia mówcy zmianę preferencji i postawy słuchaczy poprzez zmianę treści pojęciowej (znaczenia opisowego) definiowanego słowa. Na marginesie tej analizy wprowadzone zostaje także pojęcie quasi-definicji perswazyjnej. Dzięki temu narzędziu zmieniającym znaczenie pojęciowe, można zmienić lub zniszczyć znaczenie emotywne quasi-definiowanego słowa.
