Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää opettajien käsityksiä opettajan ja oppilaan välisestä vuorovaikutuksesta esiopetuksessa ja ensimmäisellä luokalla. Tutkimuksen aineistona oli yhden opettajaryhmän (4 opettajaa) litteroitu ryhmäkeskusteluaineisto. Aineisto oli kerätty lukuvuonna 2014–2015 osana Suomen Akatemian Lasten ja nuorten hyvinvointi ja terveys (Skidi-Kids) -ohjelman tutkimushanketta Vuorovaikutusprosessit ja hyvinvoinnin tukeminen. Analyysimenetelmänä oli fenomenografinen analyysi. Tässä työssä tutkimme Fermat’n pientä lausetta, Eulerin funktiota ja yksiköiden ryhmää. Toteamme myös, että on olemassa lukuja, jotka toteuttavat Fermat’n lauseen kaavan olematta kuitenkaan alkulukuja. Todistamme lisäksi Fermat’n lausetta yleisemmän tuloksen. Lopuksi perehdymme hieman Eulerin ja Fermat’n lauseiden sovelluksiin salausmenetelmissä.

Fever, hypotension and bleeding disorders are common symptoms of sepsis and septic shock. The activation of the contact-phase system is thought to contribute to the development of these severe disease states by triggering proinflammatory and procoagulatory cascades; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms are obscure. Here we report that the components of the contact-phase system are assembled on the surface of Escherichia coli and Salmonella through their specific interactions with fibrous bacterial surface proteins, curli and fimbriae. Priming of host resistance to protect cultured rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss against eye flukes and parasite-induced cataracts

In the present study, immunologically naive rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss were experimentally exposed to a low-level Diplostomum spathaceum (Trematoda) infection to stimulate acquired resistance and, along with unexposed controls, were subsequently exposed to natural infection for 8 weeks. The priming of the host resistance, designed to simulate a procedure applicable in aquaculture, decreased the number of establishing parasites compared to untreated controls by the end of the experiment. Pathogen density and genetic diversity fluctuate in the outside-host environment during and between epidemics, affecting disease emergence and the severity and probability of infections. Although the importance of these factors for pathogen virulence and infection probability has been acknowledged, their interactive effects are not well understood. We studied how an infective dose in an environmentally transmitted opportunistic fish pathogen, Flavobacterium columnare, affects its virulence both in rainbow trout, which are frequently infected at fish farms, and in zebra fish, a host that is not naturally infected by F. columnare.
