Counterdispositional Conscientiousness and Wellbeing: How Does Acting Out of Character Relate to Positive and Negative Affect at Work?

Conscientiousness is typically seen as a positive or desired personality trait in the workplace, with the overall assumption being “the more, the better”. Drawing on the behavioral concordance model, we challenge this assumption, expecting that the highest level of positive affect and the lowest level of negative affect will correspond at the point where state and trait conscientiousness converge. Using an experience sampling study and an event reconstruction study, we show that deviations from one’s level of trait conscientiousness relate to variations in positive and negative affect, but not in a straightforward way. Rolling or Scrolling? The Effect of Content Type on Habitual Use of Facebook

The paper investigates how content type (i.e., hedonic and utilitarian content) is related to satisfaction, habitual use, use intensity and discontinued use intentions in the context of social media services. The research model was empirically tested using a survey study (n = 142) that was conducted among Facebook users. The results show that hedonic content is a strong predictor of habitual use of and satisfaction with Facebook. In turn, utilitarian content has a positive effect on satisfaction; however, it does not significantly affect habitual use. Tässä tutkimuksessa tutkin, millaisia käsityksiä esikoulunopettajilla ja ensimmäisen luokan luokanopettajilla on työtyytyväisyyden rakentumisesta. Tutkimuksen tuloksista ja johtopäätöksistä on hyötyä opettajankoulutuslaitokselle ja kentän työntekijöille. Tutkimukseni tuloksista on nähtävissä opettajien työtyytyväisyyden rakentumisen monimuotoisuus. Tutkimukseni on laadullinen ja tutkimusotteeni fenomenografinen. Keräsin tutkimukseni aineiston keväällä 2014 yksilöhaastatteluin eräästä suomalaisesta kaupungista. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, miten luokanopettajat kokevat roolinsa kolmiportaisessa tuessa, miten he ovat omaksuneet kolmiportaisen tukimallin käytännössä sekä millaisia käsityksiä luokanopettajilla on omasta työssä jaksamisesta, kun luokassa on tukea tarvitsevia oppilaita. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin puolistrukturoidulla teemahaastattelulla. Haastattelut toteutettiin syksyllä 2013 haastattelemalla kahden eri eteläsuomalaisen alakoulun luokanopettajia (n=6). Effects of confinement on insulin amyloid fibrils formation.

Insulin, a 51-residue protein universally used in diabetes treatment, is known to produce amyloid fibrils at high temperature and acidic conditions. As for other amyloidogenic proteins, the mechanisms leading to nucleation and growth of insulin fibrils are still poorly understood. We here report a study of the fibrillation process for insulin confined in a suitable polymeric hydrogel, with the aim of ascertain the effects of a reduced protein mobility on the various phases of the process.
