El consum recreatiu d'esteroides anabolitzants entre els joves valencians

2012

The present study tries to measure the phenomenon of recreational consumption of anabolic steroids amongst youngsters from the city of Valencia by means of the application of qualitative methodology conducted through interviews. The sample was composed by nineteen young men aged between 21 and 34 years, that were selected from fitness centers using the snowball sampling technique. Individuals under use and abuse of anabolic steroids present patterns of consumption similar to other substances of abuse: low risk perception, repeated use and dose increase, as well as the lack of information among them. Therefore, after transcending the sports field, the consumption of anabolic steroids should …

Didáctica (lengua y literatura)

2017

2022

Considering the most recent research on the condition of youth and the experiences of young people related to the pandemic time, this contribution intends to show an empirical research conducted through the phenomenological method with 190 male and female students, aged between 18 and 30, from the Primary Education Sciences courses at the University of Palermo. The participants had the opportunity to stop and reflect on their own experiences, to share a space and time for self-narration, in order to enhance the encounter with the other, to see, through the experiences of others, resources for their own existence and to co-construct common meanings. The analysis of the “data” was carried out…

Soft-skills and labour market outcomes : the case of young people French graduates

2016

International audience; Young people throughout the course of their education and training within or outside the educational system can acquire a range of skills that they may make use of on the labour market. Much research has recently been done into the impact of soft skills, that is, non-cognitive skills, on the labour market in connection with "people skills" that might influence employability. We have attempted to construct soft-skill indicators and then to measure their effects on graduate pay on the basis of a study of a sample of masters graduates having responded to the Céreq Generation 2010 survey and re-surveyed in 2014. We show that certain soft skills explain a proportion of th…

Juvenile sudden cardiac death due to congenital coronary ostial valve-like ridges: A case report and literature review

2023

Coronary artery anomalies are a heterogeneous group of congenital disorders affecting the coronary pattern with a characteristic (origin, number, number of hosts, course, etc.). They are rarely found in the population. We report the case of a 21-year-old male who died from sudden cardiac death caused by an isolated coronary ostial obstruction, secondary to a rare anomaly, the presence of a valve-like ridge consisting of a small fold in the Valsalva aortic sinus. The study provides a brief literature review on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and clinical and medico-legal issues in coronary artery anomaly cases that may be helpful in forensic practice when dealing with sudden cardiac death i…
