Recent studies on boys and young men’s heterosexual practices point in contradictory directions. On the one hand, boys and young men seem to be placing less value on “hard”, overtly aggressive masculinity and compulsive heterosexuality, in keeping with their adoption of more egalitarian attitudes in their sexual relationships. On the other hand, the hegemonic masculine notions that associate “real” men with sexual prowess persist as well. A notable volume of research has been conducted on controlling coaching behavior, fear of failure, and achievement goals. However, limited research has been done utilizing all three elements in a single study. Previous literature suggests that fear of failure is positively related to mastery-avoidance (MAv), performance-approach (Papp), and performance-avoidance (PAv) achievement goals (Conroy & Elliot, 2004) and can change achievement motivation goals more towards avoidance behavior (Conroy & Elliot, 2004). Background: Cannabis legalization and use have risen globally. However, the association between cannabis use, eating behaviors and body weight among adolescents is yet unexplored. Objectives: This study examined the association between cannabis use, fast-food consumption, overweight and obesity in 28 countries using data from the 2010–2016 Global School-Based Student Health Survey.
