Comparative analysis of in situ versus ex situ perfusion on micro circulation in liver procurement--an experimental trial in a porcine model.

2012

The Achilles heel of liver transplantation remains the biliary system. The crucial step for liver preservation is effective rinsing and perfusion of the peribiliary plexus (PBP). Due to the physiology of the vascular tree, it seems almost impossible to achieve the necessary physiologic ranges of pressure and flow by the in situ perfusion technique. We investigated the role of additional ex situ perfusion via the hepatic artery in this animal model.Fifteen German Landrace pigs underwent standardized multiorgan procurement. In situ perfusion and additional ex situ perfusion were performed consecutively. Meanwhile the external pressure applied to the perfusion system was increased stepwise. To…

Molecules Forced to Interact: Benzene and Pentafluoroiodobenzene

2020

The in situ low-temperature (co)crystallization of liquids and gases, followed by a detailed structural study, represents an approach to engineer and discover novel materials that are not formed under ambient conditions. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed dimorphism along with a hierarchy of particular interactions in pentafluoroiodobenzene, C6F5I(1), and its benzene cocrystal (C6F5I)(2)center dot C6H6 (2). There are four polymorphs, two of 1, 1-I and 1-II, and two of 2, 2-I and 2-II, and they all are principally dominated by I center dot center dot center dot F and F center dot center dot center dot F halogen interactions. The nature and the contribution of different interactions we…

Synthesis of 2-anilinobenzimidates, anthranilamides, and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones from N-heterocyclic carbenes of indazole

2015

N-Heterocyclic carbenes of indazole (indazol-3-ylidenes), which are substituted at N1 with aromatics were generated in situ from the corresponding indazolium salts. At 60 °C the indazol-3-ylidenes underwent a ring-opening under N–N bond cleavage to intermediary N-(6-methylenecyclohexa-2,4-dien-1-ylidene)anilines. Trapping of these intermediates by alcohols proved to be a convenient method for the preparation of 2-anilinobenzimidates, which have scarcely been described in the literature. The reaction temperature avoids carbene dimerization, which occurs at −80 °C or rearrangement of the ring-opened intermediate to acridines, which affords 100 °C. Water converted the ring-opened products into…

Synthesis and antiproliferative activity of triazenoindazoles and triazenopyrazoles: a comparative study.

2003

Several triazenoindazoles and triazenopyrazoles were prepared transforming the appropriate aminoindazoles and aminopyrazoles in the corresponding diazonium salts which were reacted with dimethylamine, diethylamine and pyrrolidine. All the triazenes were tested for their antiproliferative activity against K562, HL60, L1210 and MCF7 cell lines. The biological data showed that the benzocondensation plays a positive role on the antiproliferative activity. The (1)H-NMR spectra showed that the rotational barrier around the N(2)-N(3) bond in the triazene group can be influenced both by the position of this group in the indazole nucleus and by the substitution pattern in the benzene moiety.

The new social mouvements : the case of the Bulgarian green movement

2015

This study examines the Green Movement in Bulgaria (1987-2014) as a typical and specific example of the New Social Movements. It focuses on the interconnection between environmentalism, politics and participation. We present the movement along with its evolution and analyse it on three levels: macro (through its relation to the most important contemporary issues, phenomena and processes); meso (in the national context during the past three generations); and micro (through the prism of individuals and their experience). Our general approach is interdisciplinary, combining qualitative, comparative and quantitative methods. Bulgaria’s green movement is a citizen and political movement of a new…

Determination of phenolic antioxidants additives in industrial wastewater from polypropylene production using solid phase extraction with high-perfor…

2019

Abstract This paper describes a new method for the effective extraction of the residues of five synthetic phenolic antioxidants (AOs): Ditertbutylphenol (DTF), Irganox 1010, Irganox 1076, Ethanox 330 and Cyanox 1790, from industrial water produced during the polypropylene (PP) deodorization process. In the deordorization process, PP is stored in a column for an average time of four hours and exposed to nitrogen and water vapor to remove inflammable compounds which may generate atypical odors in the PP. The samples of interest were taken in the desorber, followed by cleansing and pre-concentration using modified styrene divinylbenzene polymer cartridges. Liquid chromatography was performed w…

Kansalaisrohkeus : tottelemattomia yksilöitä, yhteisöjä, tutkijoita

2019

Katsausteksti tarkastelee kansalaisrohkeutta ja kansalaistottelemattomuutta useista eri näkökulmista käsin, pohtien muun muassa yksilön ja kollektiivien organisoitumista epäoikeudenmukaisuuden ja epätasa-arvon vastustamiseksi, kansalaisuuteen liittyviä jännitteitä, erilaisia demokratiakäsityksiä, tutkijoiden yhteiskunnallista roolia ja vastuuta sekä kriittisen akateemisen tiedontuotannon merkitystä.

The effect of depression and the reframing strategy on the level of satisfaction with family life in infertile and post-miscarriage couples: dyadic a…

2021

Transforming adult education from neo-liberal to holistically inclusive adult education in Baltic States

2021

In this chapter, we explore the data of nation-wide adult education programmes in three Baltic states. These programmes incorporate informal learning elements from the perspective of active participatory citizenship (APC) and, therefore, this provision aims to enhance opportunities for young adults in vulnerable positions. We posit that the concept of active participatory citizenship (EduMAP Concept Note 2017) that aims at developing young adults’ politico-legal, socio-cultural and socio-economic proactiveness could be used for illustrating these educational programmes from the holistic education aspects (Jarvis and Parker 2005). Holistic approach to adult education (AE) denotes that knowle…

Political Participation and Democracy in the Information Age: Effects of ICT-Based Communication Forms between the Authorities and the Citizens on Tr…

2009

Bidrag på konferanse: The Third International Conference on Digital Society ICDS 2009 1-7 February 2009 Cancun, Mexico The main trends concerning the traditional channels of participation are reduced voting turnout, reduced participation in political parties, stable participation in associations and increased citizen contact. The influence of ICT based form of communication on the relations between the authorities and the citizens are heavily influenced by the role of the citizens designed by the authorities. If the citizens are treated as customers the authorities are pursuing a consultative model focusing on creating an effective administration. The flow of information is uni linear; howe…
