Enhancing citizen response to crises through communication : investigating expert views

The purpose of this paper is to clarify how citizen response to crises is currently being enhanced, and how it might be increased, by emergency response organisations in member states of the European Union via communication strategies and tools. Data were gathered via an online questionnaire directed at emergency management and crisis communication experts working in the field of crisis response. This study focused on combining both the group- and individual-level analyses in studying a collaborative activity in technology-enhanced interactions in a higher education setting. The aim was to make visible, with empirical examples, the quality of the students' web-based discussions and trace the route for shared understanding. Abstract This presentation will first introduce the SCIROCCO and SCIROCCO Exchange projects and the Maturity Model developed by the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. Then, a demonstration will be made of the three main functionalities of the SCIROCCO tool: assessing the maturity of healthcare systems, assessing the maturity needs of good practices, twinning and coaching with its two variants. Composting residues from wine and dairy chains would contribute to increase the environmental sustainability of the production. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of deproteinized whey combined with bioactivators on the composting process. Bacillus velezensis and Kocuria rhizophila, bacteria with cellulolytic activity, were isolated from raw materials and inoculated in the organic mass to be composted. Piles moistened with deproteinized whey showed the highest reduction of total and dissolved organic carbon due to the stimulation of bacterial activity by nitrogen compounds held within deproteinized whey.
