In vivo electrophysiological techniques were used to study the effect of m-chlorophenylpiperazine, a non-selective serotonin-2C receptor agonist, on the activity of non-dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars reticulata and the ventral tegmental area of anesthetized rats. Intravenous administration of m-chlorophenylpiperazine (5–320 μg/kg) caused a dose-dependent increase in the basal firing rate of a subpopulation of nigral neurons which do not respond to a footpinch stimulus [P(0) neurons], whereas it did not affect the activity of neurons which are responsive to the footpinch [P(+) neurons]. Este trabajo repasa el tratamiento del episodio en las mencionadas fuentes, entre las cuales no le dan credibilidad Plutarco, Arriano y Estrabón, frente a la llamada Vulgata de Alejandro procedente de Clitarco, que incluye el griego Diodoro de Sicilia y los latinos Curcio y Justino. We define an adapted Fourier transform for G which gives a natural description of the harmonic analysis of G.

Abstract This paper assesses the distribution of soil phenolic matter (SPM) in soil environments from a pedological perspective, with particular emphasis on soil horizonation and its involvement in pedogenic processes. The study was conducted on 15 soil profiles (Andosols, Calcisols, Cambisols, Lixisols, Phaeozems, Podzols, Umbrisols) covering five distinct ecosystems. Although the ecosystems were virtually homogeneous in and of themselves, they represented strongly contrasting climates, geolithology and morphology, land use and vegetation cover (intensive agriculture, chestnut grove, alpine pasture, woody reforestations, and natural woods). ANALYSIS OF A SPHERICAL HARMONICS EXPANSION MODEL OF PLASMA PHYSICS

A spherical harmonics expansion model arising in plasma and semiconductor physics is analyzed. The model describes the distribution of particles in the position-energy space subject to a (given) electric potential and consists of a parabolic degenerate equation. The existence and uniqueness of global-in-time solutions is shown by semigroup theory if the particles are moving in a one-dimensional interval with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The degeneracy allows to show that there is no transport of particles across the boundary corresponding to zero energy.
