ABSTRACT Recent reports suggest that nuclear domain(s) 10 (ND10) is the site of papillomavirus morphogenesis. The viral genome replicates in or close to ND10. In addition, the minor capsid protein, L2, accumulates in these subnuclear structures and recruits the major capsid protein, L1. We have now used cell lines deficient for promyelocytic leukemia (PML) protein, the main structural component of ND10, to study the role of this nuclear protein for L2 incorporation into virus-like particles (VLPs). Fractional Hardy inequalities and visibility of the boundary

We prove fractional order Hardy inequalities on open sets under a combined fatness and visibility condition on the boundary. We demonstrate by counterexamples that fatness conditions alone are not sufficient for such Hardy inequalities to hold. In addition, we give a short exposition of various fatness conditions related to our main result, and apply fractional Hardy inequalities in connection to the boundedness of extension operators for fractional Sobolev spaces.

This socioculturally informed study explores how highly educated Finnish language learners represent their agency in visual narratives. Learners (n=59) were asked to draw two pictures of themselves as Finnish language users and provide verbal interpretations of the drawings. The aim of using visual narratives is to reach aspects such as feelings and beliefs which might be difficult to express verbally. The data were analyzed first by using visual grammar set out by Kress and van Leeuwen (2006) and secondly by content analysis. The findings suggest that learners saw Finnish language as a tool for oral communication. However, difficulties with speaking and listening appeared to restrict learn…

Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkastellaan voimauttavan valokuvauksen menetelmää käyttämällä A-kli-nikalla asioivien äitien tarinoita heidän lapsuudestaan, elämästään sekä unelmistaan naisena ja äitinä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan sitä, miten äidit kokevat voimaantuvansa tämän valokuvausmenetelmän avulla. Tutkimus jakautuu teoreettiseen ja empiiriseen osaan. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastelen Paulo Freiren teoriaa sekä voimaantumisteoriaa. A CO2-gas precursor to the March 2015 Villarrica volcano eruption

We present here the first volcanic gas compositional time-series taken prior to a paroxysmal eruption of Villarrica volcano (Chile). Our gas plume observations were obtained using a fully autonomous Multi-component Gas Analyser System (Multi-GAS) in the 3 month-long phase of escalating volcanic activity that culminated into the 3 March 2015 paroxysm, the largest since 1985. Our results demonstrate a temporal evolution of volcanic plume composition, from low CO$_2$/SO$_2$ ratios (0.65-2.7) during November 2014-January 2015 to CO$_2$/SO$_2$ ratios up to ≈ 9 then after. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przybliżenie specyfiki ewangelickiego (luterańskiego) spojrzenia na przysięgę małżeńską (ślubowanie). Tekst ten składa się z trzech zasadniczych części. Wpierw omówiono znaczenie samej przysięgi w teologii ewangelickiej. dalej skupiono się na treści ślubowania małżeńskiego podczas ewangelickiej liturgii zaślubin. W końcu zaś próbowano odpowiedzieć na pytanie o teologiczne i etyczne implikacje tego przyrzeczenia (ślubowania) w życiu małżeńskim i rodzinnym ewangelików. Należy stwierdzić, iż ewangelickie przyrzeczenie małżeńskie podkreśla ważne przymioty tej wspólnoty, czyli jedność i nierozerwalność (trwałość). Ich zachowaniu mają służyć ślubowane przez nowożeń…
