In vivo phage display: identification of organ-specific peptides using deep sequencing and differential profiling across tissues.

2021

Abstract In vivo phage display is widely used for identification of organ- or disease-specific homing peptides. However, the current in vivo phage biopanning approaches fail to assess biodistribution of specific peptide phages across tissues during the screen, thus necessitating laborious and time-consuming post-screening validation studies on individual peptide phages. Here, we adopted bioinformatics tools used for RNA sequencing for analysis of high-throughput sequencing (HTS) data to estimate the representation of individual peptides during biopanning in vivo. The data from in vivo phage screen were analyzed using differential binding—relative representation of each peptide in the target…

Reprobación y sátira del "gramático" en las letras áureas II. Textos literarios, principios del siglo XVII

2018

In this work, the author studies the satires against the grammarian in Spanish literary texts of the first third of the 17th century, according to the idea of grammar developed by Nebrija and other humanists. Following the negative judgement made by many essay writers in the 16th century, Salas Barbadillo and Quevedo will repeat some specific motives of that criticism, such as the arrogance or the interest in minor features of the texts, compared to the allegedly profound knowledge seeked by theologicians and moral philosophers. By so doing, these authors take part in an intellectual atmosphere against philologists, that confirms the exclusion, in the Spanish thought of the Golden Age, of t…

La personalidad artística de Vicente Castelló y Amat

1990

LA OBRA DEL PINTOR VALENCIANO VICENTE CASTELLO Y AMAT (1787-1860), DISCIPULO DE VICENTE LOPEZ, SE ESTUDIA AQUI POR PRIMERA VEZ EN SU TOTALIDAD. ESTO PERMITE ENCUADRAR SU PERSONALIDAD MAS ALLA DE LA CONSIDERACION DE MERO SEGUIDOR DEL ACADEMICISMO LOCAL. SE ANALIZA SU PRODUCCION Y SE CONTRIBUYE A LA MISMA CON OBRAS NUEVAS. INCLUYE SU ACTIVIDAD COMO COPISTA DE PINTURAS DEL SIGLO XVII, DURANTE LOS AÑOS DE FORMACION; COMO PINTOR DE TEMAS RELIGIOSOS, DESTACANDO EL IMPORTANTE GRUPO DE FRESCOS DE LA IGLESIA DEL SALVADOR, DE VALENCIA; COMO RETRATISTA; Y FINALMENTE, COMO PINTOR DE BODEGONES, GENERO EN EL QUE SE APRECIAN INFLUENCIAS DE ARTISTAS NAPOLITANOS Y HOLANDESES DEL SIGLO XVII. THE “ENTREPRENEURIAL UNIVERSITY”: A PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN MANAGERIAL AND ORGANISATIONAL FEATURES TOWARDS THE DESIGN OF PLANNING & CONTROL …

2013

In the last decade, European academic institutions have been affected by significant reforms aimed to improve their own performance levels. The reason for these reforms has been inspired by various factors, such as budgetary restrictions imposed by National Governments and the “marketisation” of the Higher Education sector. This has led European universities to increase their autonomy and accountability to successfully perform and compete in a worldwide competitive system. Both autonomy and accountability have involved a greater emphasis on performance management and Planning & Control (P&C) systems. In the light of the new institutional and competitive context, the aim of this paper is to …

A new indicator for higher education student performance

2014

The debate on academic achievement is a heated issue that involves all the higher education contexts. This paper attempts to provide an indicator that can make the measurement of university student performance easier and that can be easily applied to different systems, making comparisons more fair. The Italian University System is used as a starting point to make several considerations on the current measures and to build up a new performance indicator. Then, a generalization for other marking systems is shown and finally a quantile regression is performed to investigate some determinants of the new performance indicator, also with respect to the current one.
