U-Pb dating of middle Eocene-middle Pleistocene multiple tectonic pulses in the Alpine foreland
2021
Foreland fold-and-thrust belts record long-lived tectonic-sedimentary activity, from passive margin sedimentation, flexuring, and further involvement into wedge accretion ahead of an advancing orogen. Therefore, dating fault activity is fundamental for plate movement reconstruction, resource exploration, or earthquake hazard assessment. Here, we report U-Pb ages of syntectonic calcite mineralizations from four thrusts and three tear faults sampled, at the regional scale, across the Jura fold-and-thrust belt in the northwestern Alpine foreland (eastern France). Four regional tectonic phases are recognized in the middle Eocene-middle Pleistocene interval: (1) pre-orogenic faulting at 44.7&thi…
1,4 dihidropiridinski derivati povećavaju ekspresiju gena Psma3, Psmb5 i Psmc6 u glasničkoj RNA štakora
2021
The ubiquitin-proteasome system modifies different cellular and protein functions. Its dysregulation may lead to disrupted proteostasis associated with multiple pathologies and aging. Pharmacological regulation of proteasome functions is already an important part of the treatment of several diseases. 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives possess different pharmacological activities, including antiaging and neuroprotective. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of several 1,4-DHP derivatives on mRNA expression levels of proteasomal genes Psma3, Psmb5, and Psmc6 in several organs of rats. Rats were treated with metcarbatone, etcarbatone, glutapyrone, styrylcarbatone, AV-153…
Coaches’ perceptions of French sports clubs: Health-promotion activities, aims and coach motivation
2014
Background: Given the benefits of participating in sport, sports clubs have been recognised as health-promoting organizations. To examine health-promotion activities in Finnish sports clubs, Kokko et al. developed a set of standards for health-promoting sports clubs (HPSC). Objective: The present study extends this line of research, by (1) measuring coaches’ perceptions of health- promotion activities in French sports clubs and comparing them to earlier Finnish results, (2) measuring coaches’ perceptions of the health-promotion aims of sports clubs and (3) examining the links between HPSC and coaches’ self-determined motivation. Methods: Coaches ( N = 125) completed a modified version of th…
Cardio-respiratory and neuromuscular responses to motocross race
2005
Tomi Konttinen. 2005. Cardio-respiratory and neuromuscular responses to motocrossrace. Department of Biology of Physical Activity. University of Jyväskylä. 37p.Objectives - The primary aim of the present study was to examine physiological andneuromuscular responses during motocross racing. Furthermore, maximal isometricforce levels of the upper and lower body were studied. Methods - Seven Finnish A-level (group A) and five hobby-class (group H)motocross-riders performed a 30 minute riding test at a motocross track and muscleforce and maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) tests in a laboratory. Variablesdescribing cardio-respiratory strain were measured continuously during the riding andin the VO2ma…
Haul-out Behavior of Harbor Seals (Phoca vitulina) along the Norwegian Coast
2021
How do selected environmental factors affect haul-out behavior of harbor seals in Skagerrak and in northern Norway? Does the probability of hauling out differ between the geographical areas?

Physical activity during pregnancy through postpartum: A study of predictive and explanatory factors in a multi-ethnic population
2017
The study objectives were to (a) describe steps and moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) from pregnancy and postpartum across ethnic groups, (b) test prognostic factors for early identification of pregnant women at risk of non-compliance with the guideline (=150 MVPA minutes/week), and (c) to explore the association between access to recreational areas and MVPA. Data originated from the Stork-Groruddalen Cohort Study (n=823). MVPA was monitored with a multi-sensor device in gestational week (GW) 15 and 28 and three months postpartum. Country of birth defined ethnicity. Data on access to recreational areas was obtained by geographic information systems and self-report. MVP…
