How can design be socially engaged and politically efficient, as proposed by discourses labeled as critical design? This article introduces a conceptualization and historiography of politically charged design discourse based on philosopher Jacques Rancière’s work on the intersections of politics, aesthetics, and critical artistic practices. By focusing especially on Rancière’s reading of the genealogy of design from Ruskin to constructivism and the Bauhaus, the article aims to show that there is an important connection between design and politics present in Rancière’s thought. ‘Teachers see nothing’ : exploring students’ and teachers’ perspectives on school bullying with a new arts-based methodology

Even though bullying is a perennial problem, there are still significant gaps in the research. The sensitive nature of the issue prompted us to develop and test a new arts-based method – a set of incomplete, problem-focused comic strips that were given to the participants for creative completion and were subsequently used as individualised interview prompts. The study took place in Russia with 14 teachers and 39 school children. The findings indicated that students and teachers agreed that instances of bullying should not be reported. Šajā laika periodā skautu un gaidu darbība bija plaši izplatīta, tā bija galvenā jaunatnes organizācijas kustība, kad tajā iesaistījās gandrīz 8000 skautu un gaidu. Reduced Peak Bone Mass in Young Adults with Low Motor Competence

Although suboptimal bone health has been reported in children and adolescents with low motor competence (LMC), it is not known whether such deficits are present at the time of peak bone mass. We examined the impact of LMC on bone mineral density (BMD) in 1043 participants (484 females) from the Raine Cohort Study. Participants had motor competence assessed using the McCarron Assessment of Neuromuscular Development at 10, 14, and 17 years, and a whole body dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan at 20 years.
