Tässä laadullisessa tapaustutkimuksessa tarkastellaan Jyväskylän yliopiston luokanopettajakoulutuksen esi- ja alkuopetuksen erikoistumisopinnoissa toteutettavaa kummiluokkatoimintaa sekä sen vaikutusta luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden ammatilliseen kehittymiseen. Huomio kohdennetaan myös kummiluokkatoiminnan hyötyihin ja haasteisiin sekä niihin ideoihin, joiden kautta kummiluokkatoimintaa voitaisiin kehittää. Kummiluokkatoiminnalla tarkoitetaan tässä tutkimuksessa Jyväskylän Normaalikoulun alkuopetuksen luokissa tapahtuvaa ohjattua harjoittelua, johon esi- ja alkuopetukseen erikoistuvat opiskelijat osallistuvat opinnoissaan lähes koko lukuvuoden ajan. It has been argued that non-work-related computing (NWRC) takes time away from work and, hence, decreases work productivity. On the other hand, it has also been claimed that short-time non-work-related computing (STNWRC) (a maximum of 15 minutes), has a positive impact on work productivity, including relief from boredom, higher creativity, and the underlying recovery mechanisms. To examine the impact of STNWRC on creative performance, we draw on Fredrickson's broaden-and-build theory, the concept of recovery with mental well-being and low cognitive effort. The impact of the modalities of book production on the transmission of texts is still often ignored by editors of texts with little interest in book history, including palaeography, codicology, and library history. The subsequent media revolutions (passage from the rotulus to the codex form, introduction of the Carolingian minuscule, invention of the art of printing, and so on) have, however, deeply influenced what was transmitted and in what form. Enroling around : Reconfiguring place and space in the wake of a new reception centre in a small rural town

The paper examines how a small rural town Kauhava, Finland, is reconfigured in the wake of a reception centre being established. Drawing on the conceptual toolbox of the sociology of associations, we find that regardless of attitudes towards asylum seekers, people springing into action and enroling others leads to the problematisation and intensification of place. This involves turning public and private spaces into contested places. Competing definitions of community and identity emerge.
