Insights Into the Mechanisms of Phreatic Eruptions From Continuous High Frequency Volcanic Gas Monitoring: Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, Costa Rica

OVSICORI Understanding the trigger mechanisms of phreatic eruptions is key to mitigating the effects of these hazardous but poorly forecastable volcanic events. It has recently been established that high-rate volcanic gas observations are potentially very suitable to identifying the source processes driving phreatic eruptions, and to eventually detecting precursory changes prior to individual phreatic blasts. Cette invitation originale à un voyage sur le pourtour de la Méditerranée permet de mieux appréhender les raisons de la colère des jeunes. L'analyse comparative dans quatorze pays révèle les paradoxes de l'emploi féminin dans des contextes sociaux, démographiques, culturels et économiques, plus ou moins distants, à la lumière de données statistiques les plus récentes. Ces contrées reflètent une image pessimiste : en écho d'une segmentation du marché du travail, le chômage frappe particulièrement la jeunesse, les itinéraires des jeunes femmes ressemblent à un dédale d'incertitudes et de contradictions. Pourtant, certains pays leur offrent davantage d'opportunités.

The Journey to the East of the Viking Ingvar the Far-Traveled is one of the events that fit into the history of medieval relations of the Scandinavians with the world of Byzantium. It was a fateful expedition taking place between 1036 and 1041, and to this day it is a source of many controversies and speculations of researchers. The findings of the present paper suggest that the journey did not necessarily proceed to the lands of the Saracens or Byzantium but may have been part of the game played by Constantinople with its ally Tmutarkan, which opposed Jaroslav the Wise, these events unfolding in the north-eastern waters of the Black Sea.

A bacterial artificial chromosomal library of Nonomuraea sp. ATCC39727 was constructed using Escherichia coli-Streptomyces artificial chromosome (ESAC) and screened for the presence of dbv genes known to be involved in the biosynthesis of the glycopeptide A40926. dbv genes were cloned as two large, partially overlapping, fragments and transferred into the host Streptomyces lividans, thus generating strains S. lividansColon, two colonsNmESAC50 and S. lividansColon, two colonsNmESAC57. This work, together with a paper previously published on LRCW2, allows a first classification of the ceramic manufactures wellmatched with the geolithological characteristics of the district of Durrës (Albania). In the earlier phase of the research archaeological and archaeometric studies were carried out on selected samples representative of cooking ware forms brought to light in late roman layers of abandonment of a thermal complex located in Dyrrachion (Durrës) and dated back to the end of the 1st and the beginning of the 2nd century AD.
