Erratum to “Separation of representations with quadratic overgroups” [Bull. Sci. Math. 135 (2) (2011) 141–165]
2011
Abstract In the paper entitled “Separation of representations with quadratic overgroups”, we defined the notion of quadratic overgroups, and announced that the 6-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra g 6 , 20 admits such a quadratic overgroup. There is a mistake in the proof. The present Erratum explains that the proposed overgroup is only weakly quadratic, and g 6 , 20 does not admit any natural quadratic overgroup.
Inducing characters and nilpotent injectors
2000
Let G be a finite group and let N be a normal subgroup of G. If G/N is solvable and H/N is a nilpotent injector of G/N, then there exists a canonical basis of the complex space of the class functions of G which vanish off the G-conjugates of H.
A family of dominant Fitting classes of finite soluble groups
1998
[EN] In this paper a large family of dominant Fitting classes of finite soluble groups and the description of the corresponding injectors are obtained. Classical constructions of nilpotent and Lockett injectors as well as p-nilpotent injectors arise as particular cases.
Nilpotent and abelian Hall subgroups in finite groups
2015
[EN] We give a characterization of the finite groups having nilpotent or abelian Hall pi-subgroups that can easily be verified using the character table.
Initial Data for Non-Linear Evolution Equations and Differentiable Vectors of Group Representations
1995
Regularity properties of non-linear Lie algebra representations are defined. These properties are satisfied in examples given by evolution equations. We prove that this regularity implies that the set of C ∞ vectors for the non-linear group representation obtained by integration of the Lie algebra representation coincide with the set of C ∞ vectors of the linear part (the order one term) of this group representation.
Characters and Blocks of Finite Groups
1998
This is a clear, accessible and up-to-date exposition of modular representation theory of finite groups from a character-theoretic viewpoint. After a short review of the necessary background material, the early chapters introduce Brauer characters and blocks and develop their basic properties. The next three chapters study and prove Brauer's first, second and third main theorems in turn. These results are then applied to prove a major application of finite groups, the Glauberman Z*-theorem. Later chapters examine Brauer characters in more detail. The relationship between blocks and normal subgroups is also explored and the modular characters and blocks in p-solvable groups are discussed. Fi…

Spectral invariance for algebras of pseudodifferential operators on besov-triebel-lizorkin spaces
1993
The algebra of pseudodifferential operators with symbols inS1,δ0, δ<1, is shown to be a spectrally invariant subalgebra of ℒ(bp,qs) and ℒ(Fp,qs).
On Extensional Fuzzy Sets Generated by Factoraggregation
2014
We develop the concept of a general factoraggregation operator introduced by the authors on the basis of an equivalence relation and applied in two recent papers for analysis of bilevel linear programming solving parameters. In the paper this concept is generalized by using a fuzzy equivalence relation instead of the crisp one. We show how the generalized factoraggregation can be used for construction of extensional fuzzy sets and consider approximations of arbitrary fuzzy sets by extensional ones.
