Enhanced chain dynamics in loop-sorting-systems by means of layout optimization and a kinematic model of the polygon action

In this paper a kinematic model of the polygon action in large chains of loop-sorting-systems is proposed. Through optimization techniques the chain dynamics is improved by minimizing the polygon action using a parametric model of the track layout as design variables. Growth of central polynomials of algebras with involution

Let A be an associative algebra with involution ∗ over a field of characteristic zero. A central ∗-polynomial of A is a polynomial in non- commutative variables that takes central values in A. Here we prove the existence of two limits called the central ∗-exponent and the proper central ∗-exponent that give a measure of the growth of the central ∗-polynomials and proper central ∗-polynomials, respectively. Moreover, we compare them with the PI-∗-exponent of the algebra.

International audience; A hydrogen-bonded open framework with pores decorated by pyridyl groups was constructed by off-charge-stoichiometry assembly of protonated tetrakis(4-pyridyloxymethyl)methane and [Al(oxalate)(3)](3-), which are the H-bond donor and acceptor of ionic H-bond interactions, respectively. This supramolecular porous architecture (SPA-2) has 1nm-large pores interconnected in 3D with large solvent-accessible void (53%). Oscillation of Second-Order Neutral Differential Equations

Also available from the publisher at: http://www.math.kobe-u.ac.jp/~fe/ We study oscillatory behavior of a class of second-order neutral differential equations relating oscillation of these equations to existence of positive solutions to associated first-order functional differential inequalities. Our assumptions allow applications to differential equations with both delayed and advanced arguments, and not only. New theorems complement and improve a number of results reported in the literature. Two illustrative examples are provided.

Poverty Reduction: The Paradox of the Endogenous Poverty Line

When evaluating poverty, the relative poverty line may be considered as a percentage of the median income or it may be a percentage of the average income. It is proved that, with a poverty line relative to the median income, reducing poverty may become less costly in proportion to the total income as poverty increases (measured by the Sen, the Sen-Shorrocks-Thon or the Foster-Greer-Thorbecke poverty indexes) by passing from a Lorenz concentration curve to another curve associated with more poverty. Linear Types for Higher Order Processes with First Class Directed Channels

Abstract We present a small programming language for distributed systems based on message passing processes. In contrast to similar languages, channels are one-to-one connections between a unique sender and a unique receiver process. Process definitions and channels are first class values and the topology of process systems can change dynamically. The operational semantics of the language is defined by means of graph rewriting rules. A static type system based on the notion of linear types ensures that channels are always used as one-to-one connections.

Lenses on very curved zones of a singular line field of ${\mathbb C}^2$ or of a singular plane field of ${\mathbb C}^3$

We renormalize, using suitable lenses, small domains of a singular holomorphic line field of ${\mathbb C}^2$ or plane field of ${\mathbb C}^3$ where the curvature of a plane-field is concentrated. At a proper scale the field is almost invariant by translations. When the field is integrable, the leaves are locally almost translates of a surface that we will call {\it profile}. When the singular rays of the tangent cone (a generalization to a plane-field of the tangent cone of a singular surface is defined) are isolated, we obtain more precise results.
