Rapid Quantification of Microalgae Growth with Hyperspectral Camera and Vegetation Indices

Spectral cameras are traditionally used in remote sensing of microalgae, but increasingly also in laboratory-scale applications, to study and monitor algae biomass in cultures. Practical and cost-efficient protocols for collecting and analyzing hyperspectral data are currently needed. The purpose of this study was to test a commercial, easy-to-use hyperspectral camera to monitor the growth of different algae strains in liquid samples. In August 1969 Hurricane Camille hit the Mississippi coast. We argue that the disaster caused by the Hurricane was an outcome of the entanglement between human and non-human agents. As a non-human agent, Hurricane Camille thrust the prevailing socio-economic situation in the segregationist South into the spotlight, with all its political and cultural ramifications – much to the annoyance of the local political elite that had long sought to isolate southern politics from civil rights and the desegregation agenda. Author's Final draft The crystal structures and molecular conformations of two foldamer-type oligoamides were analyzed. One polymorphic form and seven solvates were found for N¹,N³-bis(2-benzamidophenyl)benzene-1,3-dicarboxamide (the benzene variant), and two polymorphic forms and six solvates for N²,N⁶-bis(2-benzamidophenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (the pyridine variant). Three crystal structures of the benzene variant and seven structures of the pyridine variant were solved using single crystal X-ray diffraction. According to previous research, American cultural values are reflected in the external communication of organizations. This study aimed to explore how cultural features are reflected in a specific American organization’s, the Coca-cola Company’s, web based media releases and to hypothesize what kind of effects the discourses could have on the viewers’ perceptions of the world. In a warming world, more intense and frequent compound climate extreme events pose serious challenges to biodiversity and conservation on Earth as one of the 2030 United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs): “Life On Land” (SDG 15).
