Hydrellia albilabris (Meigen) (Diptera: Ephydridae) is recorded in the Nearctic Region for the first time. Its biology and immature stages are documented, and other miners in duckweeds (Araceae: Lemnoideae) are discussed. One new combination is proposed: Hydrellia jinpingensis (Zhang, Yang, and Hayashi) is transferred from Cavatorella.

The material representing 14 species and subspecies belonging to the Castniidae (Lepidoptera) deposited in the Museum and Institute of Zoology Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw was studied. A brief comment on the history of the Museum is provided. General comments on natural history, distribution, and other details are presented for each mentioned species and subspecies.

Ligand mediated structural diversity of copper(II)-azido moiety: Synthesis, structure and magnetic study

Abstract Two copper azido complexes [Cu4(L1)4(µ1,1-N3)3(N3)] (1) and [{Cu2(L2)(N-benzylen)(µ1,1-N3)3(µ1,1,3-N3(N3)]n (2) have been synthesized by the reaction of aqueous solution of sodium azide to a methanolic solution of copper perchlorate hexahydrate and corresponding Schiff-base ligands. Schiff bases HL1 and HL2 act as blocking coligands are derived from the 1:1 condensation of N-benzyl ethylenediamine with Salicyldehyde and 2-hydroxy-5-chloroacetophenone respectively (N-benzylen is the N-benzyl ethylenediamine). Abstract Pluronic F127/poly(aspartic acid) mixtures were investigated in dilute solutions by viscometry and dynamic light scattering. The two polymers were chosen due to well known applications in biomedical field, taking into account the final purpose (the use of the complex structure as drug delivery systems). The central item was to identify the possibility of complexation between the poly(carboxylic acid) and a non-ionic polymer and to investigate the conditions of the interpolymer complex formation.
