New Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of benzolamide with diethylenetriamine: synthesis, spectroscopy and X-ray structures
2000
Abstract New benzolamide (H2bz, 5-phenylsulfonamide-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide) zinc(II) and copper(II) complexes with diethylenetriamine were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of the [M(Hbz)2(dien)] (M=Cu(II), Zn(II); dien=diethylenetriamine) complexes were determined. The metal centre adopts a near regular square pyramidal geometry. The benzolamidate anion acts as a monodentate ligand through the thiadiazole N atom contiguous to the deprotonated sulfonamido group. Spectroscopic properties are in good agreement with the crystal structures. The EPR and electronic spectroscopic studies showed that the copper(II) species doped into the zinc(II) complex adopts a near s…
Binuclear Nickel(II) Complexes Based on Bridging Oxalate and Pseudohalides as Peripheral Ligands: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, DFT Calculations and …
2000
Nickel(II) molecular complexes were obtained by water displacement reactions of [{Ni(dien)(H2O)}2(μ-ox)]Cl2 and the corresponding pseudohalide. The three nickel(II) compounds [{Ni(N3)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] (1), [{Ni(NCO)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] · H2O (2) and [{Ni(NCS)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] (3) are almost isostructural. The structure determinations reveal the presence of a binuclear complex with C2h symmetry, where the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis(bidentate) fashion to the twofold related nickel atoms. The distorted octahedral environment of each nickel atom is completed by the three nitrogen atoms of the diethylenetriamine ligand in a fac arrangement and one nitrogen atom from a pseudohalide ligand. Mag…

Dithiosquarate (dtsq) complexes of nickel(II). Syntheses and crystal structures of [Ni(phen)2(1,2-dtsq)]·3.5H2O, [Ni(phen)2(1,3-dtsq)] and [Ni(tren)(…
2003
Abstract The new nickel(II) complexes [Ni(phen)2(1,2-dtsq)]·3.5H2O (1), [Ni(phen)2(1,3-dtsq)] (2) and [Ni(tren)(1,2-dtsq)] (3) [1,2-dtsq=dianion of 3,4-dimercapto-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione, 1,3-dtsq=dianion of 3-hydroxy-4-mercapto-2-thioxo-3-cyclobuten-1-one, phen=1,10-phenanthroline and tren=tris(2-aminoethyl)amine] have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Their structures are made up of neutral [Ni(phen)2(1,n-dtsq)] [1 (n=2) and 2 n=3)] and [Ni(tren)(1,2-dtsq)] (3) mononuclear units. The nickel atom is six-coordinated in all three cases: four nitrogen atoms from two bidentate phen (1 and 2) or a tetradentate tren (3) groups and either two sulfur (1 and 3)…
Designing dicyanamide bridged 1D molecular architecture from a mononuclear copper(II) Schiff base precursor: Syntheses, structural variations and mag…
2009
International audience; A new tridentate N2O donor Schiff base ligand [(C6H5C(OH)CHC(CH3)NCH2C5H4N)LH] was obtained by 1:1 condensation of benzoylacetone with 2-picolylamine and has been used to synthesise a mononuclear [CuLCl] (1) and an end-to-end dicyanamide bridged polynuclear {[Cu2(μ-L)2(μ2-1,5-(CN)2N)]ClO4}n (2) copper(II) complexes. The ligand, 1 and 2 were clearly characterised by elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis spectral studies, electrochemical studies and in addition single crystal X-ray diffraction studies were performed for 1 and 2. The Schiff base ligand [LH] shows a significant variation in its coordination behaviour with copper(II) ion in absence and in presence of …
Synthesis, X-ray crystal structure and magnetic study of the 1D {[Cu(N,N-diethyl-1,2-ethanediamine)(μ1,5-dca)(dca)]}n complex
2007
Abstract A new complex, {[CuL(μ1,5-dca)(dca)]}n (1), has been synthesized from the reaction of Cu(NO3)2 · 3H2O, N,N-diethyl-1,2-ethanediamine (L) and sodium dicyanamide (Nadca) in aqueous medium. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that the complex has a 1D infinite zigzag chain structure in which copper(II) ions are bridged by single dicyanamide ligands in an end-to-end fashion. The chains propagate parallel to the crystallographic b-axis and they are stacked one upon another along the c-axis. The coordination environment of the copper(II) centers are distorted square-pyramidal. Of the four coordination sites of the basal plane of the square-pyramid, two are occupied by the nitrogen atom…
Synthesis, Coordination to Rh(I), and Hydroformylation Catalysis of New β-Aminophosphines Bearing a Dangling Nitrogen Group: An Unusual Inversion of…
2002
Variants of the beta-aminophosphine L(1) [Ph(2)PCH(2)CH(Ph)NHPh] containing additional nitrogen donor functions have been prepared. These functions are branched off the C atom adjacent to the P atom, or the P atom itself. Ligand [Ph(2)PCH(o-C(6)H(4)NMe(2))CH(Ph)NHPh] has been obtained as a mixture of two diastereomers L(3A) and L(3B) by lithiation of L(2) [Ph(2)PCH(2)(o-C(6)H(4)NMe(2))] with n-BuLi followed by PhCH=NPh addition and hydrolysis. The diastereomers have been separated by fractional crystallization from ethanol. Ligand Et(2)NCH(2)P(Ph)CH(2)CH(Ph)NHPh has been obtained as a mixture of two diastereomers L(5A) and L(5B)(starting with P-Ph reductive cleavage of L(1) by lithium and s…
Fluorinated Heterocyclic Compounds− The First Example of an Irreversible Ring-Degenerate Rearrangement on Five-Membered Heterocycles by Attack of an …
2004
The reactions of 5-perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles 3 with hydroxylamine in DMF give the regioisomeric 3-perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles 4 in excellent yields. This process is the first example of ring-degenerate rearrangement (RDR) occurring on five-membered heterocycles by attack of an external bidentate nucleophile, which replaces two heteroatoms of the ring. We suggest that an ANRORC-like mechanism occurs in which the addition of the nucleophilic nitrogen atom (NH2OH) on the C(5) atom of 3 is followed by ring opening and irreversible ring-degenerate closure by attack of the nucleophilic oxygen atom (=NOH) on the C(3) atom of the original ring, realizing an elegant and efficient synthes…
Deoxysarpagine Hydroxylase — A Novel Enzyme Closing a Short Side Pathway of Alkaloid Biosynthesis in Rauvolfia
2002
Microsomal preparations from cell suspension cultures of the Indian plant Rauvolfia serpentina catalyze the hydroxylation of deoxysarpagine under formation of sarpagine. The newly discovered enzyme is dependent on NADPH and oxygen. It can be inhibited by typical cytochrome P450 inhibitors such as cytochrome c, ketoconazole, metyrapone, tetcyclacis and carbon monoxide. The CO-effect is reversible with light (450 nm). The data indicate that deoxysarpagine hydroxylase is a novel cytochrome P450-dependent monooxygenase. A pH optimum of 8.0 and a temperature optimum of 35 degrees C were determined. K(m) values were 25 microM for NADPH and 7.4 microM for deoxysarpagine. Deoxysarpagine hydroxylase…
Dopamine Autoreceptor Agonists in the Treatment of Schizophrenia and Major Depression*
1992
Dopamine autoreceptor agonists reduce the firing rate, synthesis, and release of dopamine in dopaminergic neurons by means of a negative feedback mechanism via stimulation of autoreceptors. Moreover, dopamine autoreceptor agonists are able to stimulate supersensitive but not normosensitive postsynaptic receptors. For dopamine autoreceptor agonists, therapeutic effects by readjustment of excessive or deficient dopaminergic function have been postulated for positive and negative schizophrenic symptomatology as well as for subtypes of depressive disorders. Investigations on the therapeutic effects of autoreceptor-nonselective dopamine agonists in schizophrenia or depression have yielded incons…
