Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin peruskouluaikaisten psyykkisten ongelmien yhteyttä ammattiopintojen keskeyttämiseen. Tavoitteena oli tutkia koulun keskeyttämiseen vaikuttavia riskitekijöitä tässä aineistossa ja selvittää, mitkä niistä ennustivat koulun keskeyttämistä voimakkaimmin. Tutkimuksen aineisto on peräisin Niilo Mäki Instituutin vuosina 2009–2012 toteuttamasta Motivoimaa -hankkeesta. Labor-Market Returns to Higher Vocational Schooling

This paper examines the labor-market returns to a new form of postsecondary vocational education, vocational master's degrees. We use individual fixed effects models on the matched sample of students and non-students from Finland to capture any time-invariant differences across individuals. Attendance in vocational master's programs leads to higher earnings of eight percent five years after entry even if selection on unobservables is twice as strong as selection on observables. Earnings gains are similar by gender and age, but they are marginally higher for health than for business or technology and trades. nonPeerReviewed

The subject of this study is melody dictation as a part of professional musician training in Finland and Hungary. Melody dictation is considered highly important in the system of music instruction of both countries. In Ethiopia, individuals with disabilities have limited access to educational and vocational training opportunities. This study investigates prevailing challenges and opportunities for the participation of students with disabilities in vocational education programs in Ethiopia. Data for the study were gathered from the five biggest regions out of the 11 in the country by selecting two colleges of technical and vocational education from each region. This paper aims to analyse and describe relationships and communication in Twitter in relation to vocational education and training reform in Finland. Data were collected during the early implementation phase of the reform from January 2018 to early June 2018. The data included 2400 tweets containing the hashtag #amisreformi (VET reform). Social network analysis was utilised to study the network and communities. The main themes of the tweets were analysed using thematic analysis, and automated sentiment analysis was used to examine the tones of the tweets and public opinion.
