International audience; L'objectif de cette communication est de présenter quelques éléments de réflexion concernant l'accessibilité aux commerces et services dans un modèle de croissance résidentielle. Ces travaux sont menés dans le but de fournir des entrées à la simulation de scénarios d'extensions urbaines. Le terrain d'application de ce travail est le Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, où le développement pavillonnaire périurbain s'accompagne d'une forte dépendance automobile (Dupuy, 1995 ; pour le cas luxembourgeois cf. Urban sprawl is often at the origin of diffuse settlement patterns generating important traffic flows since services are far away from residential areas. We present a new planning concept that optimizes accessibility to different types of amenities like services, but also natural and leisure areas. The social demand of households seeking for a residence close to natural space or simply individual housing is taken into account. This thesis aims to establish a urban structure that optimizes inhabitant's preferences. In other words, we want to find out which city shape answers the best the residents' aspirations, according to their consumption preferences for urban and green amenities. By considering a theoretical field of study and by characterizing the population by a Cobb-Douglas behavioral pattern, we will build step by step a city, assuming successive arrivais of new individuals, in order to find out which geometric shape gives the most suitable answer. Since the 1960s, French cities are concerned with an urban sprawl process. This urban sprawl leads to the emergence of a particular space located at the interface between the city and the countryside: the periurban. The social, morphological or the spatial practices of its inhabitants give the suburban a particular singularity and specificity.
