UMTS authentication and key agreement : a comprehensive illustration of AKA procedures within theUMTS system
2001
Masteroppgave i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi 2001 - Høgskolen i Agder, Grimstad This report will give information on the 3rd generation mobile communication system, UMTS, its Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA) procedures and security aspects. It will also describe the ‘UMTS AKA Illustrator’ which is an animation program we have created to explain the AKA procedures. The AKA procedure is the essence of authenticating a user to the network and vice versa. This is possible due to the pre-shared secret key K stored in the Authentication Centre (AuC) and in the UMTS Subscriber Identity Module (USIM). The other parameters are derived from this key. During an AKA procedure, message…
Bluetooth : overføring av EKG-prosessdata via Bluetooth-teknologi
2000
Development of a multi-player WebSim in BT
1999
Masteroppgave i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi 1999 - Høgskolen i Agder, Grimstad This report investigates the development of multi-player WebSims using the Powersim Metro technology. A WebSim is a simulation of some phenomenon that can be played as a game on the Internet or Intranet. The WebSim front-end is the user interface to a simulation model that has been developed with a system dynamics modeling tool like Powersim Constructor. The WebSim front-end is an interactive interface that allows a user to enter inputs to the underlying simulation model and start the simulation. The user can see the results of the simulation in form of time-graphs or time-tables. WebSims can be sing…
Kontekstbasert arbeids- og informasjonsorganisering
1999
A Generative Adversarial Network approach using Latent Space Manipulation for Clothing Display on Synthetic Images Using the latent space of an non-p…
2020
Master's thesis in Information- and communication technology (IKT590) The Fashion industry is continuously inventing new clothing. A significant bottleneck when introducing newly designed clothing to the market is advertisements. This thesis looks into the possibility of streamlining this bottleneck through the automated manipulation of clothing onto generated humans. A common problem in Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) is the black-box nature of the generated re-sults. Meaning a user has no direct input on the traits of images produced. GANs are capable of exceptional levels of "creativity" when utilizing its generator to create novel results. For instance, it is possible to project a…
Simulated testing in mobile datacom systems (GPRS/UMTS) : postgraduate thesis information and communication technology
2000
Masteroppgave i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi 2000 - Høgskolen i Agder, Grimstad The assignment described in this thesis is given by Ericsson AS and gives an evaluation of simulation and testing tools used in their development projects. Since Ericsson wants to change their testing process the task was to evaluate and suggest a solution to how this could be done. In order to make testing available for all developers it was required to run tests independent of hardware. Thus they wanted to simulate the hardware resources. Originally, the intention was to use the test environment used otherwise in Ericsson. This proved to cause many problems because the project became dependent of o…
3D Convolution Neural Networks for Medical Imaging; Classification and Segmentation : A Doctor’s Third Eye
2020
Master's thesis in Information- and communication technology (IKT591) In this thesis, we studied and developed 3D classification and segmentation models for medical imaging. The classification is done for Alzheimer’s Disease and segmentation is for brain tumor sub-regions. For the medical imaging classification task we worked towards developing a novel deep architecture which can accomplish the complex task of classifying Alzheimer’s Disease volumetrically from the MRI scans without the need of any transfer learning. The experiments were performed for both binary classification of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) from Normal Cognitive (NC), as well as multi class classification between the three st…
Sepsis at ICU admission does not decrease 30-day survival in very old patients : a post-hoc analysis of the VIP1 multinational cohort study
2020
AbstractBackgroundThe number of intensive care patients aged ≥ 80 years (Very old Intensive Care Patients; VIPs) is growing. VIPs have high mortality and morbidity and the benefits of ICU admission are frequently questioned. Sepsis incidence has risen in recent years and identification of outcomes is of considerable public importance. We aimed to determine whether VIPs admitted for sepsis had different outcomes than those admitted for other acute reasons and identify potential prognostic factors for 30-day survival.ResultsThis prospective study included VIPs with Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores ≥ 2 acutely admitted to 307 ICUs in 21 European countries. Of 3869 acutely admi…
2014
In contemporary societies, mobility is considered as a social norm necessary for integration. Conversely, immobility is often seen as the opposite. Therefore, it is associated with a significant risk of exclusion. An approach in terms of exclusion involves a sociological orientation. Nevertheless, this thesis follows a geographical approach. Thus, a first question emerges from this disciplinary position: immobility is it a geographical object? Furthermore, it is possible to consider the mobility and immobility as equivalent and not opposed. This means that their impact may not be reversed. This position engages a second question: the relationship between immobility and exclusion is it legit…
