Known knowns and known unknowns on behavior change interventions and mechanisms of action.

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of research play an important role in summarizing current knowledge on the efficacy of the behavior change techniques and mechanisms of action that comprise behavioral interventions. The current reviews in the science of behavior change (SOBC) special issue represent a ‘step change’ in evaluating current evidence on behavior change interventions and mechanisms. This concluding article outlines the key findings and emerging issues identified in the reviews (‘known knowns’), and summarizes the evidence gaps highlighted by the reviews that need to be addressed in future research (‘known unknowns’). Smarter Teachers, Smarter Pupils? Some New Evidence from Sub-Saharan Africa

By using a difference-indifference between pupils' and teachers' scores in two skills, we are able to avoid potential endogeneity bias. In most estimations, we do not find a significant teacher knowledge effect in most countries. The main reason is teacher absenteeism and the need to focus on core knowledge. MOLECULAR ANALYSIS OF COLLETOTRICHUM SPECIES ASSOCIATED TO OLIVE IN CALABRIA.

A new molecular approach based on the use of genus-specific primers targeting the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of rDNA, was developed and used to study the diversity of Colletotrichum species associated with the olive canopy in the Gioia Tauro plain (Calabria, southern Italy). Representative symptomatic and symptomless samples of leaves, flowers and fruits were collected during 2012 and analyzed by extracting total DNA and amplifying the target region with the genus-specific primers.
