The purpose of this thesis is to study the media representation of urban poverty in a developing country context, focusing specifically on the connections between media representation and social exclusion. The theoretical-methodological basis of this work draws from critical cultural studies and sociological media research, specifically from the theoretical assumptions of critical discourse analysis about media representation. The premise is the constructionist view that the media does not directly reflect the reality of urban poverty, but constructs journalist reproductions of it from a particular perspective and in a certain social context. In forest management planning, participatory planning processes are often encouraged as a means to acquire relevant information and to enhance the stakeholders' acceptability of alternative plans. This requires the aggregation of the stakeholders' preferences that can be done in a wide variety of manners. The aggregation process strives to reduce the information into a single set of preferences that simplifies the information and allows for the use of discrete decision support tools. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tuottaa henkilöstön ja organisaatioiden kehittämistä tukevaa tietoa tarkastelemalla työpaikan tunneilmaston ja psykologisen turvallisuuden yhteyttä organisaation strategian toteuttamiseen. Vaikka strategian toteuttaminen on organisaatioiden kilpailukyvyn kannalta oleellista, on erityisesti määrällinen tutkimus tunteiden yhteydestä siihen vähäistä. Abstrakti Tämä tutkielma analysoi naisen ja naiseuden kuvauksia Norman Mailerin teoksessa The Armies of The Night. Tutkimusmenetelminä käytettiin Greimasin strukturaalista semantiikkaa ja Kristevan semanalyysia. Greimasin strukturaalisen semantiikan keinoin muodostettiin naisen ja naiseuden semanttinen rakenne niistä termeistä, joita Mailer naisten kuvauksessa käyttää. Kristevan semanalyysilla selitetään tämän rakenteen merkitystä psykoanalyyttisen tulkinnan kannalta. Tutkielma on avoimesti poliittinen, päämääränään paljastaa naisvihamielinen painotus Mailerin teoksessa.
