Gravides røykevaner i Aust-Agder : rapport fra et prosjekt i regi av Høgskolen i Agder, på oppdrag av Fylkesmannen i Aust-Agder

"Prosjektets varighet: 1/1-2004 - 31/12-2004" Målgruppe for surveyundersøkelsen var samtlige kvinner hjemmehørende i Aust-Agder som fødte fra 1/1-04 tom 31/12-2004. Det ble det utlevert 851 spørreskjemaer. 734 svar innkom, dvs. en svarprosent på 86,3 %. 241 kvinner (32,8 %) bekreftet at de røkte ved svangerskapets start. Undersøkelsen viste at hvorvidt kvinnene definerte seg som røykere i stor grad var avhengig av hvordan spørsmål om røykevaner ble stilt. Alle grader av røyking inkludert angav 200 (27,2 %) av kvinnene at de røkte etter fødsel. Røykenedgang i løpet av svangerskapet i forhold til totalutvalget var altså på 5,6 %. Abstract Background: GRID is a phase III study for patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) following failure of imatinib (I) and sunitinib (S) who were randomized to receive either the multikinase inhibitor regorafenib (R) or placebo (P). Abstract The identity of the mummified Lady from the Barfusser Church in Basel, Switzerland has been unsolved for decades, despite the prominent location of the burial place in front of the choir screen. A recent multidisciplinary research approach came up with a possible candidate, Anna Catharina Bischoff who died in Basel in 1787 with an age of 69 years (1719–1787). Epithelial receptivity acquisition involves dramatic structural changes in the plasma membrane and cytoskeleton. Proprotein convertase 5/6 (PC6), a serine protease of the proprotein convertase (PC) family, is up-regulated in the human endometrium specifically at the time of epithelial receptivity and stromal cell decidualization. Intestinal helminths of a landlocked ringed seal (Phoca hispida saimensis) population in eastern Finland.

A small, landlocked, endangered ringed seal (Phoca hispida saimensis) population lives as a postglacial relict in Lake Saimaa in eastern Finland. In this study, the intestinal metazoans were examined from a total of 61 Saimaa seals found dead from 1981 to 2001. The helminth fauna was very depauperate. Only one acanthocephalan species, Corynosoma magdaleni, has been able to survive during isolation in the freshwater environment. In addition, only two cestode species were found: Diphyllobothrium ditretum and Schistocephalus sp. However, neither of these larvae developed in the ringed seals.
