Quale teoria e concezione del dialetto soggiace all’idea di descrivere il siciliano come «abbastanza distinto dall’italiano tipico tanto da poter essere considerato un idioma separato» (Ethnologue, MOSELEY e ASHER 1994, 54)? Un certo ruolo deve avere la distorta pratica di valutare le varietà dell’italoromanzo come dialetti dell’italiano, pratica, questa, che, per altro, induce a proporre separazioni e distinzioni al punto da invocare, per alcune di queste varietà, lo statuto di «lingue madri». IntroductionThis longitudinal study examined unique and joint effects of parenting and negative emotionality in predicting the growth curves of adolescents’ self-efficacy beliefs about regulating two discrete negative emotions (anger and sadness) and the association of these growth curves with later maladjustment (i.e., internalizing and externalizing problems).MethodsParticipants were 285 children (T1: Mage = 10.57, SD = 0.68; 53.3% girls) and their parents (mothers N = 286; fathers N = 276) from Colombia and Italy. Eosinophilic granuloma of the skull vault: A case report

Background: Eosinophilic granuloma is the benign form of Langerhans cell histiocytosis, a rare proliferative disorder. Skull osteolytic lesions are quite frequently encountered. Case report: We report the case of a 16 year old boy who was admitted to our Department with a painful swelling left frontal mass. A diagnosis of eosinophilic granuloma was presumed on the basis of the neuroradiological findings. Surgical removal of the lesion was achieved and the bone defect reconstructed by autologous fibrin glue and a titanium mesh. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. Background: Eosinophilic granuloma (EG) is a clinical variant of the Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) characterized by unifocal or multifocal bone lesions which predominantly affects children, adolescents, and young adults. Case Report: A case is reported of a 13-year-old Caucasian boy who presented unifocal EG in the mandible as the first clinic manifestation. Radiographic examination and skeletal scintigraphy revealed a further localization with an osteolytic lesion in the right femur. Causality graphs are routinely estimated in social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering due to their capacity to efficiently represent the spatiotemporal structure of multivariate data sets in a format amenable for human interpretation, forecasting, and anomaly detection. A popular approach to mathematically formalize causality is based on vector autoregressive (VAR) models and constitutes an alternative to the well-known, yet usually intractable, Granger causality.
