Here, we address the question of whether normal aging influences action representation by comparing the ability of 14 young (age: 23.6 +/- 2.1 years) and 14 older (age: 70.1 +/- 4.5 years) adults to mentally simulate arm movements under a varying dynamic context. Physical activity has positive effects on brain health and cognitive function throughout the life span. Thus far, few studies have examined the effects of physical activity on white matter microstructure and psychomotor speed within the same, population-based sample (critical if conclusions are to extend to the wider population). Conventional MRI shows an extensive load of white matter lesions (WMLs) already at an early stage in FD. Purpose: To present some unusual MR findings in a group of patients from the south-west of the Dominican Republic suffering from Pantothenate Kinase Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN). Materials and Methods: Twenty patients and one preclinical case homozygous for the PANK2 mutation, 13 heterozygous gene carriers and 14 healthy volunteers were scanned prospectively using a 3 Tesla system. Results: All patients showed the typical signal reduction within the globus pallidus and the substantia nigra. The anisotropy of personal space.

Violations of personal space are associated with discomfort. However, the exact function linking the magnitude of discomfort to interpersonal distance has not yet been specified. In this study, we explore whether interpersonal distance and discomfort are isotropic with respect to uncomfortably far or close distances. We also extend previous findings with regard to intrusions into personal space as well as maintenance of distances outside of personal space. Diffusion-tensor MR imaging at 1.5 and 3.0 T: initial observations.

Diffusion-tensor MR imaging was compared at 1.5 and 3.0 T. With sufficient signal-to-noise ratio, we found no differences in fractional anisotropy. With a 40% higher signal-to-noise ratio at 3.0 T, higher resolution could be obtained without introduction of noise-related errors, albeit at the cost of increased geometric distortions caused by 3.0-T magnetic field inhomogeneities.
