Observation of a Charged(DD¯*)±Mass Peak ine+e−→πDD¯*ats=4.26  GeV

2014

We report on a study of the process e(+)e(-) -> pi(+/-) (D (D) over bar*)(-/+) at root s = 4.26 GeV using a 525 pb(-1) data sample collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. A distinct charged structure is observed in the (D (D) over bar*)(-/+) invariant mass distribution. When fitted to a mass- dependent- width Breit- Wigner line shape, the pole mass and width are determined to be M-pole (3883: 9 +/- 1.5 (stat) +/- 4.2 dsyst__ MeV= c(2) and Gamma(pole) = (24: 8 +/- 3.3 (stat) +/- 11: 0 (syst)) MeV. The mass and width of the structure, which we refer to as Z(c)(3885), are 2 sigma and 1 sigma, respectively, below those of the Z(c)(3900) -> pi(+/-) J/psi peak observed by B…

Antiproton annihilation at rest in liquid deuterium into π−π0π0pS

1994

With the Crystal Barrel detector, the final state π−π0π0pS at rest in liquid deuterium was measured for the first time. A preliminary partial-wave analysis was performed, which required two interesting features: besides the ρ(770), a second pole was needed in the ππP-wave and a narrow resonance in the ππS-wave, slightly above 1500 MeV/c2. With the same parametrization a high-statistics π+π−π0 data set could also be well described.

Observation ofB+→a1+(1260)K0andB0→a1−(1260)K+

2008

We present branching fraction measurements of the decays B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0) and B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K(+) with a(1)(+/-)(1260)-->pi(-/+)pi(+/-)pi(+/-). The data sample corresponds to 383 x 10(6) BB pairs produced in e(+)e(-) annihilation through the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure the products of the branching fractions B(B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0)B(a(1)(+)(1260)-->pi(-)pi(+)pi(+))=(17.4+/-2.5+/-2.2) x 10(-6) and B(B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K(+)B(a(1)(-)(1260)-->pi(+)pi(-)pi(-)) = (8.2+/-1.5+/-1.2) x 10(-6). We also measure the charge asymmetries A(ch)(B(+)-->a(1)(+)(1260)K(0) = 0.12+/-0.11+/-0.02 and A(ch)(B(0)-->a(1)(-)(1260)K+) = -0.16+/-0.12+/-0.01. The first uncertainty quoted is statis…

Measurement ofχcjdecaying intopn¯π−andpn¯π−π0

2014

Using (106.41 +/- 0.86) x 10(6) Psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we study for the first time the decay chi(cJ) -> eta'K+K- (J = 1, 2), where eta' -> gamma rho(0) and eta' -> eta pi(+)pi(-). A partial wave analysis in the covariant tensor amplitude formalism is performed for the decay chi(c1) -> eta'K+K-. Intermediate processes chi(c1) -> eta'f(2)'(1525) chi(c1) -> K-0*(1430)K-+/-(-/+) (K-0*(1430)(+/-) -> eta'K-+/-) are observed with statistical significances larger than 5 sigma, and their branching fractions are measured.

Production and decay of charmed mesons at the Z resonance

1991

Abstract In a sample of 190 000 hadronic Z decays, three signals of charm production are observed: two from the exclusive decays D ° → K − π + and D ∗+ → D °π + → K − π + π + and one in the transverse-momentum distribution of soft hadrons relative to the nearest jet. The features of these signals are in good agreement with expectations based on the standard model and previous measurements of the branching fractions. The number of D ∗± → K ± π ± π ± per hadronic decay of the Z is measured to be (5.11±0.34) × 10 −3 , and the branching ratio B(D 0 → K − π + ) is (3.62 ± 0.34 ± 0.44)%. Charm hadronization has been studied. The average fraction of the beam energy carried by the D ∗ meson is foun…

Numerical evaluation of NLO multiparton processes

2013

We discuss an algorithm for the numerical evaluation of NLO multiparton processes. We focus hereby on the virtual part of the NLO calculation, i.e. on evaluating the one-loop integration numerically. We employ and extend the ideas of the subtraction method to the virtual part and we use subtraction terms for the soft, collinear and ultraviolet regions, which allows us to evaluate the loop integral numerically in four dimensions. A second ingredient is a method to deform the integration contour of the loop integration into the complex plane. The algorithm is derived on the level of the primitive amplitudes, where we utilise recursive relations to generate the corresponding one-loop off-shell…

Study ofB→DsJ(*)+D¯(*)Decays

2004

We report a study of D-sJ(*)(2317)(+) and D-sJ(2460)(+) meson production in B decays. We observe the decays B+--> D-sJ((*)+)(D) over bar ((*)0) and B-0 --> DsJ(*)+D(*)- with the subsequent decays D-sJ(*)(2317)(+)-->D(s)(+)pi(0), D-sJ(2460)(+)-->D(s)(+)gamma, and D-sJ(2460)(+)-->D(s)(*+)pi(0). Based on a data sample of 122.1x10(6) B(B) over bar pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B factory, we obtain branching fractions for these modes, including the previously unseen decays B-->(DsJ(*)+D*). In addition, we perform an angular analysis of D-sJ(2460)(+)-->D(s)(+)gamma decays to test the different D-sJ(2460)(+) spin hypotheses.

Search for the decaysB0→e+e−γandB0→μ+μ−γ

2008

We present results of a search for the decays $B^0 \to \ell^+\ell^-\gamma$ ($\ell=e$, $\mu$). The search is performed using $320\times 10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II $B$ Factory at SLAC. We find no significant signal and set the following branching fraction upper limits at the 90% confidence level: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to e^+e^-\gamma)<1.2\times 10^{-7}$ and $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to \mu^+\mu^-\gamma)<1.5\times 10^{-7}$.
