Partial-wave analysis of ππη in $$\bar pp$$ annihilation at restannihilation at rest
1994
A new isovector scalar πη resonance with a mass of 1450 MeV is observed in a high-statistics study of\(\bar pp\) annihilation at rest into π0π0η.
Observation of the Semileptonic Decay D0→a0(980)−e+νe and Evidence for D+→a0(980)0e+νe
2018
Using an e(+)e(-) collision data sample of 2.93 fb(-1) collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we report the observation of D-0 -> a(0)(980)(-)e(+)nu( ...
REVIEW OF R MEASUREMENTS
2013
We review the status of R measurements in the energy range below 12 GeV, where recently a major progress has been achieved recently. These measurements are phenomenologically motivated by their impact on precision QCD and on electroweak parameters. We also report on improved results which can be expected in near future from presently running or upcoming facilities.
Next-to-next-to-leading order corrections to three-jet observables in electron-positron annihilation.
2008
I report on a numerical program, which can be used to calculate any infrared safe three-jet observable in electron-positron annihilation to next-to-next-to-leading order in the strong coupling constant ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}$. The results are compared to a recent calculation by another group. Numerical differences in three color factors are discussed and explained.
High-statistics analysis of $$\bar pp \to \pi ^0 \pi ^0 \pi ^0 $$ at restat rest
1994
Antiproton-proton annihilation at rest into 3π0 is analysed based on a data sample of about 500 000 high-quality 3π0 events. In this high-statistics Dalitz plot two structures in the region of π0π0 invariant masses of about 1500 MeV show up, a small band and a blob at higher masses. In a first attempt to describe the data two different models are used to parametrize the dynamical amplitudes leading to the same conclusion: the data require a 0+ + and also a 2+ + resonance in the 1500 MeV region.
Search for flavor-changing neutral current and lepton-flavor violating decays of D-0 -> l(+)l(-)
2004
We report on a search for the flavor-changing neutral current decays $\Dz\to e^+e^-$ and $\Dz\to\mu^+\mu^-$, and the lepton-flavor violating decay $\Dz\to e^\pm\mu^\mp$. The measurement is based on $122 {fb}^{-1}$ of data collected by the \babar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric $e^+e^-$ collider. No evidence is found for any of the decays. The upper limits on the branching fractions, at the 90 % confidence level, are $1.2\times 10^{-6}$ for $\Dz\to e^+e^-$, $1.3\times 10^{-6}$ for $\Dz\to\mu^+\mu^-$, and $8.1\times 10^{-7}$ for $\Dz\to e^\pm\mu^\mp$.
Analytical results forO(αs)radiative corrections toe+e−→tt¯↑up to a given gluon energy cut
2009
We determine the O({alpha}{sub s}) radiative corrections to polarized top quark pair production in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilations with a specified gluon energy cut. We write down fully analytical results for the unpolarized and polarized O({alpha}{sub s}) cross sections e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}tt(G) and e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}tt{sup {up_arrow}}(G) including their polar orientation dependence relative to the beam direction. In the soft-gluon limit we recover the usual factorizing form known from the soft-gluon approximation. In the limit when the gluon energy cut takes its maximum value we recover the totally inclusive unpolarized and polarized cross sections calculated previously. We provi…
First results on dark matter annihilation in the Sun using the ANTARES neutrino telescope
2013
A search for high-energy neutrinos coming from the direction of the Sun has been performed using the data recorded by the ANTARES neutrino telescope during 2007 and 2008. The neutrino selection criteria have been chosen to maximize the selection of possible signals produced by the self-annihilation of weakly interacting massive particles accumulated in the centre of the Sun with respect to the atmospheric background. After data unblinding, the number of neutrinos observed towards the Sun was found to be compatible with background expectations. The 90% CL upper limits in terms of spin-dependent and spin-independent WIMP-proton cross-sections are derived and compared to predictions of two sup…
Search for pair production of heavy objects in 4-jet events at sqrt {s}$=130-136 GeV
1996
Results are presented of a search for pair production of heavy objects decaying into four hadronic jets, as expected for example from associated or pair production of MSSM Higgs bosons, hA or H$^+$H$^-$, using a data sample of $5.9\,$pb$^{-1}$ of $e^+ e^-$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=130$-$136\,{\mathrm {GeV}}$ collected with the DELPHI detector at LEP in November 1995. The data and expectations from standard processes agree after four-jet selections. An analysis based on $b$-tagging finds no hA candidate with high mass. A study optimized to search for H$^+$H$^-$ events with mass in the 40-50$\,{\mathrm{GeV}}/c^2$ range also finds no candidate. Finally a comparison is made with a recent ALEPH a…
Search for Higgs bosons decaying to WW in e(+)e(-) stope collisions at LEP
2006
A search for Higgs bosons produced in association with a fermion pair, and decaying to WW, is performed with the data collected by the ALEPH detector at centre-of-mass energies ranging from 191 to 209 GeV. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 453.2 pb^-1. Thirteen exclusive selections are developed according to the different final state topologies. No statistically significant evidence for a Higgs boson decaying into a WW pair has been found. An upper limit is derived, as a function of the Higgs boson mass, on the product of the e+e- -> Hff cross section and the H -> WW branching ratio. The data on the search for H -> WW are combined with previously published ALEPH re…
