Measurement of theDs+→ℓ+νℓbranching fractions and the decay constantfDs+
2016
Using 482 pb(-1) of e(+) e(-) collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 4.009 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fractions of the decays D-s(+) -> u(+)v(u) and D-s(+) -> tau(+)v(tau). By constraining the ratio of decay rates of Ds(+) to tau(+)v(u) and to u(+)v(u) to the Standard Model prediction, the branching fractions are determined to be B(D-s(+) -> u(+)v(u) = (0.495 +/- 0.067 +/- 0.026)% and B(D-s(+) -> tau(+)v(tau) = (4.83 +/- 0.65 +/- 0.26)% Using these branching fractions, we obtain a value for the decay constant f(Ds+) of (241.0 +/- 16.3 +/- 6.5) MeV, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic.
Evidence for an Excess ofB¯→D(*)τ−ν¯τDecays
2012
Based on the full BaBar data sample, we report improved measurements of the ratios R(D(*)) = B(B -> D(*) Tau Nu)/B(B -> D(*) l Nu), where l is either e or mu. These ratios are sensitive to new physics contributions in the form of a charged Higgs boson. We measure R(D) = 0.440 +- 0.058 +- 0.042 and R(D*) = 0.332 +- 0.024 +- 0.018, which exceed the Standard Model expectations by 2.0 sigma and 2.7 sigma, respectively. Taken together, our results disagree with these expectations at the 3.4 sigma level. This excess cannot be explained by a charged Higgs boson in the type II two-Higgs-doublet model. We also report the observation of the decay B -> D Tau Nu, with a significance of 6.8 sigma.
Observation and analysis ofE mesons in $$\bar p$$ p annihilation at rest in H2 gas
1989
Antiproton-proton annihilation at rest in a gaseous H2 target at NTP into the final state π+ π−K± π∓ (K0) with an undetectedK0 or\(\bar K^0 \) has been investigated. We observe theE(1420) resonance in the invariant mass spectrum (K0)missK± π∓ with massME=1413±8 MeV/c2 and widthГE=62 ± 16MeV/c2 and find evidence for the production of thef1(1285). The absolute branching ratio of\(\bar p\)p → π+ π−E0,E0 →K0LK±π∓ at (61±6)%P wave annihilation is (3.0±0.9)·10−4 of all annihilations. The observed suppression of theE production fromP wave with respect to theS wave together with some simple selection rules suggest that the quantum numbers of theE(1420) areJpc=0−+ and not I++.
Search for baryonic decays ofψ(3770)andψ(4040)
2013
By analyzing data samples of 2.9 fb(-1) collected at root s = 3.773 GeV, 482 pb(-1) collected at root s = 4.009 GeV and 67 pb(-1) collected at root s = 3.542, 3.554, 3.561, 3.600 and 3.650 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for psi(3770) and psi(4040) decay to baryonic final states, including Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(+)pi(-), Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(0), Lambda(Lambda) over bar eta , Sigma(0)(Sigma) over bar (0) and Xi(0) (Xi) over bar (0) decays. None are observed, and upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level.
Observation of e+e−→ηhc at center-of-mass energies from 4.085 to 4.600 GeV
2017
We observe for the first time the process e(+) e(-) -> eta h(c) with data collected by the BESIII experiment. Significant signals are observed at the center-of-mass energy root s = 4.226 GeV, and the Born cross section is measured to be (9.5(-2.0)(+2.2)) pb. Evidence for eta h(c) is observed at root s = 4.358 GeV with a Born cross section of (10.0(-2.7)(+3.1)) pb, and upper limits on the production cross section at other center-of-mass energies between 4.085 and 4.600 GeV are determined.
Observation ofB0→ωK0,B+→ηπ+, andB+→ηK+and Study of Related Decays
2004
We present measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for seven B-meson decays with an eta, eta', or omega meson in the final state. The data sample corresponds to 89x10(6) BB pairs produced from e(+)e(-) annihilation at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure the following branching fractions in units of 10(-6): B(B+-->eta pi(+))=5.3+/-1.0+/-0.3, B(B+-->eta K+)=3.4+/-0.8+/-0.2, B(B0-->eta K0)=2.9+/-1.0+/-0.2 ( eta(')pi(+))=2.7+/-1.2+/-0.3 ( omega pi(+))=5.5+/-0.9+/-0.5, B(B+-->omega K+)=4.8+/-0.8+/-0.4, and B(B0-->omega K0)=5.9(+1.6)(-1.3)+/-0.5. The charge asymmetries are A(ch)(B+-->eta pi(+))=-0.44+/-0.18+/-0.01, A(ch)(B+-->eta K+)=-0.52+/-0.24+/-0.01, A(ch)(B+-->omega pi(+…
Next-to-Leading-Order Results for Five, Six, and Seven Jets in Electron-Positron Annihilation
2012
We present next-to-leading order corrections in the leading color approximation for jet rates in electron-positron annihilation up to seven jets. The results for the two-, three-, and four-jet rates agree with known results. The NLO jet rates have been known previously only up to five jets. The results for the six- and seven-jet rate are new. The results are obtained by a new and efficient method based on subtraction and numerical integration.
Measurement of theB0→K2*(1430)0γandB+→K2*(1430)+γbranching fractions
2004
We have investigated the exclusive, radiative B meson decays to K2*(1430) in 89* 10^6 BBbar events with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II storage ring. We measure the branching fractions BR(B0 -> K2*(1430)0 gamma) = (1.22 +-0.25 +-0.10)*10^(-5) and BR(B+ -> K2*(1430)+ gamma) = (1.45 +-0.40 +-0.15) * 10^(-5), where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. In addition, we measure the CP-violating asymmetry ACP(B0 -> K2*(1430)0 gamma) = -0.08 +- 0.15 +- 0.01.
Masses, lifetimes and production rates of Ξ− and Ξ¯+ at LEP 1
2006
Measurements of the Xi(-) and (Xi) over bar (+) masses, mass differences, lifetimes and lifetime differences are presented. The (Xi) over bar (+) sample used is much larger than those used previously for such measurements. In addition, the S production rates in Z -> b (b) over bar and Z -> q (q) over bar events are compared and the position xi* of the maximum of the distribution in Z -> q (q) over bar events is measured.
