Registration-based Construction of a Whole-body Human Phantom Library for Anthropometric Modeling.

Various computational human phantoms have been proposed in the past decades, but few of them include delicate anthropometric variations. In this study, we build a whole-body phantom library including 145 anthropometric parameters. This library is constructed by registration-based pipeline, which transfers a standard whole-body anatomy template to an anthropometry-adjustable body shape library (MakeHuman™). Therefore, internal anatomical structures are created for body shapes of different anthropometric parameters. Ultrasound velocity and cortical bone characteristics in vivo.

Axial transmission of ultrasound along cortical bone may reflect a combination of material and structural properties of long bone cortices. The goal of this study was to determine the association of speed of sound (SOS) with cortical density (CoD), cortical wall thickness (CWT), and total cortical area (CoA). Quantitative ultrasound (QUS) and peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) were used to measure the above variables in the distal third of radius and the midshaft of tibia in 51 postmenopausal women aged 62 to 71 years. Background and aims: A Body Shape Index (ABSI) and Body Roundness Index (BRI) are two new anthropometric adiposity indices that have shown to be associated better than BMI with adipose abdominal tissue, with the onset of diabetes and the risk of premature death. Gender and anthropometrics of patients undergoing cisplatin-containing chemotherapy as determinants of acute emesis over repeat courses

Objective. To characterize the anthropometric and pharmacotherapeutic variables related to acute emesis over repeat courses of cisplatin-containing regimens (≥50 mg/m survival analysis.2) by means of survival analysis. Methods. A prospective, cross-sectional non-controlled study was started to analyse acute vomiting in patients treated in a general hospital. The patients received an intravenous combination of drugs based on metoclopramide (two 3 mg/kg doses), diphenhydramine (20 mg) and dexamethasone (20 mg) as first choice antiemetic treatment. AbstractThe accuracy of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) on linear and volumetric measurements on condyles has only been assessed on dry skulls. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and accuracy of linear and volumetric measurements of mandibular condyles in the presence of soft tissues using CBCT. Six embalmed cadaver heads were used. CBCT scans were taken, followed by the extraction of the condyles.
