Chimney endografting for pararenal aortic pathologies using transfemoral access and the lift technique
2013
Purpose: To present a technique for transfemoral implantation of parallel grafts into the renal arteries in patients with anatomy or morphology that blocks standard antegrade chimney graft delivery. Technique: In a totally percutaneous approach, a 5-F pigtail angiographic catheter is passed into the aorta above the renal arteries via a 0.035-inch hydrophilic guidewire, followed by an 8-F sheath. The target vessel is cannulated with the hydrophilic wire followed by a 5-F reverse curve catheter; the wire is changed for a Rosen wire. The main stent-graft body is delivered and parked at the level of the aortic bifurcation. The Viabahn chimney endograft is advanced ~1 to 2 cm into the target ren…
Ruolo della Cardio TC in pazienti con aneurisma dell’aorta ascendente.
2016
The aim of our study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of cardio CT (CTC) in patients with ascending aortic aneurysm displayed at Transthoracic Echocardiography (ETT).

CT-Angiographie versus intraarterielle DSA bei Bauchaortenaneurysmen
1996
PURPOSE To evaluate if CT angiography is able to image all features necessary for the preoperative planning of abdominal aortic aneurysms (accessory renal arteries, stenoses or occlusions of renal and iliac arteries, patency of inferior mesenteric artery). METHODS CT angiography and DSA were performed on 27 patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms. CT angiography was performed using a protocol that covered the abdominal aorta and the pelvic arteries with a single spiral acquisition (contrast dose: 150 ml, collimation: 5 mm, table feed: 7.5 mm/s, increment of reconstruction: 2 mm). Maximum intensity projections (MIP) and axial scans were compared with the results of intraarterial DSA. RESULT…
Sociālā funkcionēšana pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas vēlīnajā pēcoperācijas periodā
2017
Involvement of the aorta in brucellosis: the forgotten, life-threatening complication. A systematic review.
2012
Abstract Human brucellosis is a disease of protean manifestations, and has been implicated in complications and focal disease in many human organ systems. However, little is collectively known about the background, the course, the clinical characteristics, the diagnostic issues raised, and the short- and long-term therapeutic approaches in patients with aortic involvement as a complication of brucellosis. With the aim to glean from the literature useful information to better understand and manage this complication, a computerized search without language restriction was conducted using PubMed and SCOPUS. An article was considered eligible for inclusion in the systematic review if it reported…
α-Adrenoceptor Interaction of Tetrandrine and Isotetrandrine in the Rat: Functional and Binding Assays
1998
Abstract The action of 1S,1′S-tetrandrine, a bisbenzyltetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid, on α1-adrenoceptors has been compared with that of its isomer 1R,1′S-isotetrandrine. The work includes binding assays to analyse the affinity of these products for the [3H]prazosin binding site of rat cerebral cortical membranes and functional studies on rat isolated aorta to examine the effects of both alkaloids on intracellular calcium processes related or not to α-adrenoceptor activation. A radioligand receptor-binding study showed that both compounds interacted with the α1-adrenoceptors displacing [3H]prazosin from the specific binding site. The Ki values (inhibition constants) were 0.69±0.12 and 1.6±…
Intravascular ultrasound imaging of arterial wall architecture.
1992
Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) is a promising new technique for assessing vascular morphology and structure. Controversy exists whether the three-layer appearance of the arterial wall correctly reflects the histologic structures of the intima, media, and adventitia. We performed an experimental study to clarify the three-layer appearance. The vessel wall architecture was analyzed by IVUS on eight different kinds of plastic cylinders, 24 normal blood vessels from pigs, and 59 human arterial segments. A distinct three-layer appearance was observed on all the plastic cylinders when the ultrasound beam was perpendicular to the wall. A three-layer appearance was also seen in the arterial wall, …
