Agronomical and chemical characterisation of Thymbra capitata (L.) Cav. biotypes from Sicily, Italy

In this study the agromomical and chemical characterization of 13 sicilian biotypes of Thymbra capitata (L.) Cav. (or Thymus capitatus Hoff. et Link.) collected from different areas of Sicily (Italy) and grown under the same agricultural and environmental condition are reported. The main morpho-productive parameters and quali-quantitative profile of essential oils were determined . Essential oils were extracts from the aerial parts of the plants by hydrodistillation. The present study documents the susceptibility of Nile tilapia to the experimental vibriosis caused by Vibrio vulnificus biotype 2 (serovar E) using a reference strain (Spanish Collection of Type Cultures, CECT 4604) selected for its high degree of virulence for eels. The biotype 1 of this species is one of the usual organisms involved in epizootics occurred in tilapia. After intraperitoneal injection, the selected strain developed a haemorrhagic septicaemia similar to eel vibriosis with a LD50 four log units lower than that exhibited by the type strain of the species, which belongs to the biotype 1. Penelitian ini mengkombinasikan tanaman Hydrilla verticillata dengan Ceratophyllum demersum sebagai filter pada budidaya ikan Nila sistem resirkulasi. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat pertumbuhan ikan Nila pada budidaya sistem resirkulasi. Filtrasi yang digunakan pada budidaya sistem resirkulasi yaitu tanaman H. verticillata dan C. demersum. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Adapun parameter yang diamati berupa kelangsungan hidup ikan, pertumbuhan mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) dan kualitas air. Jak dotąd otrzymano kilkadziesiąt pochodnych ftalocyjanin, różniących się właściwościami i mogących znaleźć zastosowanie w różnych dziedzinach życia. Właściwości spektralne, które tłumaczą intensywną barwę roztworów ftalocyjanin, decydują o możliwości wykorzystywania tych związków jako barwników.
